Hi All,

I have started my Dragon OOB Campaign entry. I have had the kit kicking around the stash for a couple of years and thought I would have a bash as I am plumb out of anything else to do for this campain. I have to say 1/72 has been long off my radar ( since doing airfix and matchbox aircraft back in the '80's) since I was a kid and I bought this along with an Su100 a few years back which I will do for the Get 'er done Mk3 campaign in a little while once this one is done.

And a little quick bash at it to get the juices flowing so to speak!

Cheers all

Paul

Sal,I used a combination of Olive Drab, white, and yellow for the top filter to depict fading by the elements. Guess I went a little too far if it looks too yellowish on your screen. But it looks pretty good up close and personal.

Finally got around to repainting the road wheels the right color, then moved on to attaching the track only to find that when I put them together and worked out the sag I put them together backwards.

So am reworking that now.

Cheers Rob.

Guy - I really dig the paint on your T-34, the tracks look great as well.

Rob - Great job on the tracks, although the number of clamps involved is making me skittish about doing my magic tracks.

John - I plan on doing a Panther F for the Panther campaign, so looking forward to your progress.

I have completed the hull on the Ferdinand. Aside from the gap between the engine deck and the front of the hull, she is going together very smoothly.

I plan on using as much of the PE supplied with the kit as possible, including the fenders and the tool box. As this is my first Dragon kit and my first experience with PE, we shall see how that goes

Thanks Nathan! I also really like the avatar using the old Panzer Blitz game piece. Man did I have hours of fun with that one back in the day!

Hi Guys,

Just a small update on this one. I forgot that the 1/72 stuff is so tiny!!!! I am having a little trouble with my lack of patience on this one LOL.

Have just conpleteed a little construction on the turret, well as much as my cat would allow. I had to fix the matlet in place as the mechanism to allow the barrel to elivate managed to destroy itself as I attempted to fit it .

Greetings all!

I've dropped in on and off to keep track of the work and I must say that there's some great results happening here. As a Braille scale aficionado it's nice to see some kits in this scale being done.

I set my IJA Type 97 aside for a bit but returned to it the other day. Another coat of flat varnish, the affixing of the last parts (turret hatches) and some minor touch ups here and there. Initial weathering has started with Flat Earth and some Buff to dull down the main colours a bit. Today I started on the serious stuff (shadows and hi-lights) and then the final weathering touches.

I delayed on gluing the final hatches as I had hoped to add a suitable figure to an open hatch. However, this is an OOB campaign so that just wouldn't do!

Cheers,
Jan

Jose,

Thanks, and yes, it is rather small but not as small as some of the new Japanese tanks released. This should give you a better idea of the size.

Notice the M4A2 Sherman in the back!

I know the kit you are building very well (notice my Avatar!). It was my first build after returning to the hobby and also from my first campaign. Be careful with the tracks as they are rather thick and everyone that has built this kit has had problems with them.

Cheers,
Jan
