Paul, great job on the jagdpanzer IV! It came together really well!

Hi Guy,

Thanks for the kind comment, I am going to run the airbrush along the bottom of the side skirts to make the transition of mud to skirt a little softer, then I will be totally happy with it. I am really pleased with how the 'hairspray' chipping turned out, well worth the effort.

All the best,

Paul

Excellent job on that Jagdpanzer Paul.
Watching the progress on your build and some other modellers makes me want to buy one of these.
I'm just not sure if i want to deal with tracks again right now.

EDIT I can't believe that thing is Braille Scale.
Totally impressive.

Hi Marc,

Thank you, the 1/72 kits have the DS tracks and are a pleasure to apply, as well as looking good, so you wouldn't have the problems you have experienced with the Magic tracks. This has been one of the more pleasurable kits I have made and I am really pleased with the result.

All the best,

Paul

Paul, Just an outstanding weathering effort. Well done.

Hi Joel,

Thank you, I have mentioned that I am going to run the airbrush along the bottom of the side-skirts and then declare it done. I will post it in the gallery and then it is on with my cavalry figures next.

All the best,

Paul

Lot to keep up with here..

Marc great job on those side skirts, I think that really improves the look too.

Paul I like your winter camo that jadgdpanther makes me feel cold looking at it..

I am just adding the update for mine.. I've been in a building mode all week. Finished the assemble of my Sea Vixen in 1/72

here are the photo of the naked bird..

I'm prob going to wait a few days to start on painting.

Looking good Delbert.
I haven't built an aircraft probably in 30 years.
It'll probably be another 30 before i do again!

Hi Rob,

Thanks, it is smallish, but perfectly formed

@ Delbert....

Thanks for the comment. I love the Sea Vixen, a really nice plane and you are doing a sterling job on it. I have often wondered if the Navigator had to be screened for claustrophobia, as he is shut up in a small space for the duration of a mission.

All the best,

Paul

Delbert, The Sea Vixen is coming along at a nice clip now. I use to build aircraft 40 years ago when I 1st got back into the hobby as an adult, and still build the occasional aircraft, so I'm kind of familiar with the building/painting process.

I see that you have the landing gear, and ordnance already glued up. Doesn't that make it that much harder to paint them?

Hi Folks,

This is my second attempt at posting this, the first one was lost because the connection timed out....

Anyway, I am declaring the Jagdpanzer completely finished now, I have run the airbrush along the edge of the side-skirts and am pleased with the result. I have given it its final coat of matt varnish and I am putting it away until I can get around to making the little base for it. I will be uploading images to the gallery and here are a few to see how it turned out....

Thanks for the comments.. I'm really enjoying the build and enjoying watching the builds on here..

I think the primary attribute of the right seat on this aircraft was that he had to be a very trusting sort.

Since he prob could not see what was going on at all.

Joel...

I like aircraft, but I am better at ground, I have done a few WWII planes in 1/48 but this is my first post war and first plane in 1/72.

I try different ways of finishing things with each build, to me this one seems fairly straightforward as its mostly a dark gray over white scheme. The one thing I'll prob have to mask up to paint on the under wing stores are the rocket pods.

I will say the one thing that worries me is the after painting step. This thing has a ton of stencils to put on, there are 2 decal sheets and I think the ground crews just wanted to cover it in writing.

and in 1/72 the stencils are tiny tiny tiny..

Delbert: The Sea Vixen looks great.......one of my favorite Royal Navy aircraft and a very interesting subject.

Marc:Glad you got the sideskirts on without too much pain and anguish. Great looking PZ IV, all the way around.

Joel: Love the 105 Sherman so far. Can't wait to see it with some grit and grime on it. You must be really good with the HVSS suspensions by now.

Ian, actually I've gotten pretty good with my system to build the HVSS suspensions. I prefer to build them stationary at this point. If I ever attempt a diorama, then I'll have them moveable.

Just finished up the weathering and dry brushing. Will be Dullcoating it this afternoon or Sunday after work. It's been a fun build for sure.

Good deal...............you are making me want to build one. I think I have the HVSS 105/Flamethrower variant in the pile somewhere.

Well, it's been a great campaign. I really enjoyed following so many builds. I finally finished my M3A4 105mm Sherman, and while it's strictly an OOB build, I concentrated on the finish and weathering. From a personal view, this is my best effort to date. From here it's on to the Half-Track campaign, where I hope to see some of you there as well.

I actually finished my build some weeks ago, but wanted to take and share some better pictures in daylight. Here is my final kit for the campaign: The Dragon StuG III ausf. G early.

Comments welcome

Ian, thanks. Just started tinkering with the Dragon M2A1 Half-Track. This is the 1st Half-Track I've ever build. Big difference from tanks.
