I fianlly got a chance to post a picture of my T-34 build. There more issues with this Dragon T-34 than any of the others I've built. They mostly involve parts not called out in the instructions, but there is one major fit issue I'll try to post pictures of later. I've got one side of track done. Hopefully get the other this weekend.

Paul, hope you and your family are doing well. In answer to your question, I will be using a white wash technique based on a technique outlined in a magazine article by Kristof Pulinckx, where he did a stunning white wash Tiger I. Essentially the white is applied over the basecoat. Then the model is given a faint raw umber bath with mineral spirits. Not a wash, but more of just a filter. Then the whitewash and base coat are chipped with a fine brush.....I like Vallejo paints for this. In the case of my T-34 I will be using very dark grey over the green and armor green over the white. After that I will do the pin wash, oil paint, weathering powder applications. I have used this on a winter KV-1 before and was very happy with the result.

Hi Folks,
Thank you to all those who were kind enough to offer condolences, Auntie Dottie's (Dorothy) funeral was not a sad affair and she went out to Frank Sinatra's 'I did it my way', a character to the very end, but much missed.
@ Petro (Marc): Nice work on the Panzer IV, I can see it is a late J so no need for zimmeritt, which is a plus as making the stuff is a bit of a pain.
@ Erhntly (Erhan): I like your T34, it looks a nice model to make and I will definitely have to get a few for my collection. I look forward to seeing your progress with it.
@ Streetgang 6 (Ian): I am interested how you are going to weather this one, I am doing a winter whitewash on my Jagdpanzer and will be trying out the 'hairspray' and 'salt' methods of weathering.
@ Tojo72 (Anthony) Nicely done Panzer IV, the exhaust is exceptionally nice, very realistic.
I have done the camouflage on the Jagdpanzer, I will be doing the washes and detail work this week and then it will be the winter whitewash and some heavy weathering. Here are the photos of progress so far....
Well that's it for now, I will post again when the next stage is complete.
All the best,
Paul

Couldn't resist joining this campaign. I'm going with the Ferdinand, a beast of a machine. I was going to say a beast of a kit too, but it is about 400 pieces shy of Tojo72's vorpanzer.
Lots of great builds in progress here.

I repaired my broken part and got the gloss coat on today.
I also gloss coated an old Panther turret to experiment with.
Getting closer.

Finished the Panther G,I am not going to weather it only because I need to learn how to do that.
I am fairly happy with the build as its only my second tank and 5th model I have ever build.
Learnt a lot and enjoyed the build.

Most of the upper deck is completed and now primed:
Trucks are being built (the brakes area pain) and the "wheels" are done and painted gloss black for now.
Debating about putting up the one "end rail" system. I probably will tho for a little depth.

Well, decals and 2 gloss coats are done. I did end up putting the 2nd gloss coat on too thick, but not bad enough to mess it up, thank god.
Overall wash done.
Now i need to get some acrylic flat. I could swear i had some, but just 2-3 different gloss clears and a semi gloss lacquer.

Yes Sal,I noticed that also and I have already extended the weathering further down. Its really something how the camera helps you to see things that you don't always pick up.
I am working on figures now, probably wrap it up in a week

Made some progress on the OT-34 Flamethrower tank this week. Got most of the weathering done to the white-wash. Plan on weathering the tracks and tow-cable this weekend and then it should be ready for some MIG Pigments, i.e, slop, grime and muck from the Motherland. Looks like everybody's projects are going great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gary, nice effort. Take it one step at a time, Next kit out, start with just the basics of weathering and work on it at your own pace.

I've got my T-34 ready for primer, and then paint. The turret halves are only dry fitted at this point as I'm still doing a very basic paint job on the turret interior.
The tracks will slip off for easier painting. I added the tow cable to the right side as the instructions showed a very weird way of positioning it on the left fender. I also replaced some of the plastic rod for the infantry handles with metal rod. The plastic ones are very fragile and I kept breaking them!
Also added an antenna out of metal rod with a few wraps of copper wire around the base.
I'll hopefully get to prime it this afternoon.

Marc, Guy, Kevin and Sal....thanks for the kind words regarding the paint job so far. I really have had fun doing this white wash scheme. Hopefully I will have the weathering powders on this weekend.
Guy, your T-34 looks great. Sounds like you had some issues with the kit.......I did as well. Instructions were really vague and confusing in some parts and the kit is a real hodge-podge of parts sprues from other Dragon -34 kits. I still have a ton of unused parts left over. Guy, you doing a green one or white-wash?

Ian, you're right about this kit. More issues than my two previous DML T-34's combined. Took some major surgery to get the rear hull plate to fit. You're right, it did fill up the spares box,
I think I'll do the Soviet 2 color scheme shown in the instructions, although I am tempted to do the "beute" version.
Can't wait to see more of your OT-34.

Very nice paint job, Ian. Looking forward to see it with some mud and grime on it.
