Hi everyone

After painting my M3A1 Scout car this morning, I've been busy working on the decals on this aircraft and talk about fiddly bits. the red do not walk lines took 19 decals, and each had to be placed just so.

I've spent most of my work time today on this.. do a decal wait a few go back do another ect.. took a while.

anyways here is the photo. It looks a lot better with its markings on. I'm sure they will look better after I get a gloss coat on.

Looking good Delbert, don't envy setting all those decals, but at least it doesn't have tracks.

Making some progress on the Ferdinand...

Cameo is painted and tracks are on. Boy, saving the tracks for last was a bad move, it was a real pain getting everything situated with the fenders in place, and all the handling was hard on the paint. I was hoping to get the future coat on tonight, but now I have some touching up on the paint and some putty work.

Nate.

Hey Nathan,

Don't remind me.. I have a Panzer IB with the tracks only about half done that I'm doing for another build.. lol

btw the Ferdinand is looking good. and remember the golden rule.. damaging paint during final assembly just shows you were to chip the paint..

Well,
This was the first campaign I signed up for but was not the first to finish so I finally got back on this after clearing up some others.
I got a coat of future on then decals (which I seem to have misplaced, luckily I recently picked up the Nashorn Premium kit and that had decals to spare. )then another coat of future.

Cheers Rob.

@Rob

Very nice Nashorn !!!

@Sal

I got both sides on this afternoon.
I didn't turned out as good as I expected.
I have a hard time aligning both ends of the track, the sag doensn't lookg good... If I had time & cash, I would get a set of metal tracks or Modelkasten ... right now I just want to finish the damn tank...

It's a great kit, probably one of the best Dragon kits I did, it has everything ... but those tracks are

Hello everyone.

I have enjoyed this build and watching everyones kits take shape.. I really like Dragon kits.

I'm posting my finished photos here, as I've already uploaded them into the gallery.

I had a few problems with the paint on this build but I feel that overall I worked on improving my skills. And most importantly I learned some stuff that don't work.

here are my photos.. have a great finish to the campaign, and I will be lurking around watching everyone finish theirs.

Delbert, your Sea Vixen came out great. The effort you put in with those walk way decals were well worth it.

Here it is Panther F... almost over...

tracks (not all painted )

And I put both "F" & "D" turrets side by side.
Since I'm doing 2 Panthers for 2 Campaigns..

As you can see, the Panther F is almost over, just getting the tracks painted, some pin wash on the hull, and very light weathering.

@ Delbert, great finish I dont envy you doing all those walk way decals but it looks great and the only bird in the campaign
@ Tom, outstanding job on the weathering on that SAS Jeep, I have the Tamiya version inbound hope it turns out like yours
@ Rob you are getting there nice progress
@ John, you are having a hell of a time with those tracks but you can do it, the great paint job will draw attention away from the tracks

Ok guys less then 3 weeks left and we have 25 people who finished and posted in the gallery we still have another 13 that posted progress pictures which includes john, Rob and Nathan So what happened to the other 10 guys the clock is ticking

Thanks everyone..

What made the Do not walk decals so hard was that they are a red square with a red x in the middle and of the 4 triangles formed by the x, only one has decal film in it the other 3 are just empty space, which helps in reducing the silvering effect of a lot of clear decal film.. but makes them hard to work with..

anyways even though I felt odd man out, I enjoyed the build so have fun finishing up everyone.

Great finish Delbert, that is a very cool set of wings! And yes, I definitely have some bit to weather.

Tom - Nice dusty looking SAS Jeep, I like the understated chipping.

Rob - Clean looking build and my favorite Pz IV varient.

John - The tracks look good, see it wasn't so bad

Thanks Joel, I'm pretty happy with how the painting came out. I'm a total noob when it comes to washes, filters and weathering, hopefully Ferdie will survive the experiments.

Nate, Believe me, I'm by no means an expert on weathering. I go by the KISS principle; Keep It Simple Stupid. Adding layers and sealing each one before the next is nearly fool proof, especially working with earth tones.

Tom, your SAS Jeep came out great. The weathering is just perfect. It's what I call used but not abused. Just an outstanding build.

This afternoon I washed the tracks with AK track wash.
Some pin wash on the lower hull too.
Tomorrow some last detail painting (metal grey/black on the tracks, get a final check on the equipment and turret) and I'll call this one finisshed !!!!!

That's it, one less build on the bench !

Here are some in progress pics of the last minute details, antennas, tow cables, I also gave another wash on the tracks, the metal parts were to bright .

Damn...some photobucket errors...AAARRGGGHH I can't upload the images...

I posted 2 of them on the gallery. I'll give it a try later and posted here.

I'm really digging the camo job, Nate.
Free hand or stenciled/masked?
