Yeah 500 odd yrs apart but better late than never i guess , I would have to say its the world's oldest prototype too and the longest time between design and building , ohh many records happening here .

God knows there's no way in hell i would ever want to go anywhere in it
Phill
Hey Phil!
Oh thanks! I should have asked first but I was in the LHS picking up a few sci-fi and horror models when it jumped out at me! I thought ... this has gotta be weird enough, huh?
Have a good one!
~ Jeff
Phill & Jeff.... well, it might have been a few years later but they did build one and actually test it...
http://dsc.discovery.com/videos/doing-davinci-tank-test.html
So I would think that should count as a "prototype"....

Well, here is another contender if anyone cares to take it up....
Not sure when it is due out, but with a year on the campaign it might make it in time.
Now if they would only do the T-28 I would have to buy one...

Any weirder than this!!?
PLA prototype highland excavator
PLA MRAP
PLA GJW-320
One of the newest addition to PLA ZBL09 8 wheel IFV
I think it's command version
Btw Phill, you think that Mengshi-looking platform with 122mm howitzer is weird? Look at this, PLA export SH-1, with 155mm howitzer, as opposed to the SH-2 122mm mentioned above
btw it's a howitzer and anti-tank cannon br /><
PLA rocket mineclearing vehicle based on type 89 MRL chassis (Same idea as Polish T-55 PW-LWD)
Finally, off topic but surely will be useful some people I hope
Netherlander Vlieland shooting range
http://bbs.tiexue.net/post_5682563_1.html
Some rare photo of Iranian Pahlavi Kingdom's military power

Vincent,
That PLA export SH-1 definitely looks like it means business (in both senses of the term ).
The UN ambulances... are those standard PLA seconded to UN duties? Interesting looking vehicles, especially the rather tall section in the back. Would be decent working conditions for the medical personnel, and would allow stacking of stretchers.
Nice vehicles.... at least they aren't in digital camouflage. Also liked the variety of range hulks...

You know, after seeing all the stuff that Vincent is showing I almost feel that my proposed build is rather ordinary...
Oh well, I still have a couple days to decide.... unless he starts showing off more oddities...

Phill,
Glad to be of service...
Yep, real broad ass on that thing, but I think we had it beat with the T-28! With or without the outer set of tracks...
Well, less than a week and my work area is actually clean For me that is a minor miracle...
Remember Boss Man.... you are supposed to have come up with something to build in your own campaign. You know something small, easy..... how about a military wheelbarrow? The strange part is that you could show it actually being used!!!
Bob

I'll just stick to my Croatian M-95 Project
It's hell of a mod on an old T-72 derived M-84
glad it stays as a prototype so it's eligible
however my progress will be slow as a turtle glad the campaign is till next year

@Vincent.... I am sure that you will come up with a wonderful build. Know what you mean by being happy it is a year, may take that amount of time for my second build.
@Phill.... After seeing the BEAST I am sure you have something wild and wonderful for us...
Just tossing out this little beauty...
An Armored Engineer Vehicle "SS"... Japanese WWII. SS had following nine functions; (1)destruction of pillbox, (2) digging trench, (3)mine sweep, (4)destruction of wire entanglements, (5)disinfection, (6)scattering poison, (7)flamethrow, (8)crane, (9)smoke discharge, and a bridgelaying function was added later. On the upper photo, two stick-like projections in front of the vehicle and in the side of vehicle are flamethrowers. The wheels on the top of the hull are the device for loading a bridge. To bad that is the only photo I have ever seen... you have to love the claws...

Then there is the "Lumberjack"...
The Ho-K was developed for cutting the taiga in Siberia. It makes a path in the jungle by felling trees by its nose.
Looks like the Jimmy Durante of armored vehicles...
The photos and information come from...
http://www3.plala.or.jp/takihome/
Am starting to have a real problem with waiting.... had to pull another kit out to give myself some plastic to cut so I wouldn't start my build....

Yep, April Fools.... I have to admit I have been doing layout work for some of the stuff that has to be done on my kit. I have it marked for the cuts and the improvements, but haven't cleaned up the parts so I look at it as "planning" rather than construction.
