GREAT pictures indeed! I'd like to get me one of those Lorraine Schlepper vehicles, especially in 1/16th and radio controlled too!

Nathan, no problem. I figured Dragon might have added the DS tracks to later lots of the kit. I'm not a fan of the DS tracks. And thanks for the link to those pictures. I'm always looking to add pictures to the collection.

Well, i have assembled some magic tracks for the left side. I made a length of 11 1/35th scale feet for the bottom run , and 14 scale feet for the top run. But, the drive sprocket and return rollers are to loose without cement to add the sag and continue with the curves. So i drilled a hull in the gear covers for a styrene rod that fits in the back of the sprocket. It will enable me to turn the sprocket while i set the links.
I will have to glue the return rollers on to keep them tight, and i hope straight, Because of this, i primed and painted the lower hull.

Marc,
Looking very nice indeed so how many links do you think you need per side??
Keep up the great work!!

The instructions say 72. It has to be incorrect.
Between the 2 runs, i have 65 links already.
If i did 14 scale feet on the bottom run, that would have brought me from the front edge of the first road wheel to the back of the rear idler before the major curve begins. There is supposed to be 260 links included in the kit (130 light grey and 130 dark grey).
With a little luck, i will be finding out in a few days.
EDIT. That run of links in the picture above is for the top run. It starts from the centerline of the final drive and if i recall , should bring me about center of the idler. The 2 pieces of blue tape on the link to the right are approximate positions of the 2 rear return rollers.

Always liked that 10.5 Antonio ! Nice kit.
Well here I am listening to a Master of Reality's Black Sabbath and working on the last steps before another trip to the paint shop.
Italeri's Stug IV
Hope to finish the side skirts today..
During the week will work on the fender's equipment & spare tracks.

Erhan, those 1/72 kits are getting more and more realistic looking and just as detailed as their 1/35 competitors!
Antonio, nice looking late StuG III Ausf. G Sturmhaubitze! The muzzle-less look is even more awesome looking too!
And Sir. John ... ROCK ON DUDE with your StuG IV! And how have you got this far without any one's permission is anyone guess? I'm impressed and it's looking good too!
So I guess I need to go melt some more styrene now. Nice updates guys!

Erhan it is looking really good & like Jeff said it is amazing what the 1/72nd scale kits are looking like.
John that stug IV is looking great, I just have a question, is it possible that your transmisson cover maybe on the wrong way round?? Just looking at the Spielberger Stug Book Vol II, as I am also making a Stug IV & some concord books & looks like it maybe, or more than likely I am wrong & it is just a different type with front manlet.
Cheers Mike

No problem, these things happen.
I'm not going to fix it at this time...it's a Stug IV where the mechanic crew got drunk before the afternoon inspection, in a rush he made a small mistake...
I'll have to do a real cool paint job now !
To take the eyes off that sillyness..

Now that could work especially if you had it in Russian use & them all getting drunk & pointing at it & slapping one of their comrades on the back as they laugh at him??

John,
never underestimate the concealing abilities of spare track. Or you could just leave it as is for now and see how many people spot it.

I don't expect anyone to fix an error done while building, as long as it isn't a major undertaking ... and this would be one. A wrong wheel or cheek armor (LOL) can be easily fixed but a cemented in panel would and will destroy the model if taken apart.
Plus although it's not a rivet counting type of Campaign we do strive for them to be correct, as I have learned it could be an issue with some builds but we're all human and mistakes happen.
So try covering it up or just acknowledge it and we will all push on to build another day!
~ Jeff

Hi Gents,
I do hope I haven't upset anyone with my question to John about the front transmisson cover & hope I didn't sound like a Neville know it all, when I am really a Neville who not know much!! I was worried I wasn't dry fitting mine correctly
For my two cents i would think a camo net would look great maybe draped over the barrel & down over the mantlet & spare track
Cheers Mike

I was thinking about all I had to dismember to get it right... almost everything...
Anyway thanks for letting me know Mike, there's no problem at all. As Jeff put it, we all make mistakes, it happens.
