Just after Sal !
Well here goes, my ambush camo, since the Stug IV is a hunter, nothing better than an ambush style camo.
I still have to do the little dots on every green & brown spot.
Is it too much ?
The camo styles on the Italeri sheet were dull, most of them plain Dark Yellow, others too similar to my previous Stug III.
I hope Jeff approves this camo...

Hello all
I finally started on my Orange Box Stug III Ausf.F
Not too much done, i cleaned all the wheels and suspension parts, the glued them on the lower hull.
Here a pic of the pile of components:
Then, when i want to take pics of the lower hull, my batteries went flat, so i need to recharge first.
Anyway, i am glad i am off to a start.

Marc, the CH Ausf. E kit says 94 links. I checked several other kits and if they gave different numbers I usually go in with shooting for 93 r 95 and just go for a semi-sagging track through trial and error.
John, You'd probably do more damage than good in trying to fix that trans cover. I don't know what to tell you there. The hinges are molded on right? Maybe cut off the vents and reposition them and them pack on the foliage. Like you said, she's a hunter.

Guys thanks a lot for your comments. Really encouraging! Too many nice builds going on here.... Phill and Paul i'm speachless, i'm really handicapped (anapiros in my language) regarding PE.....
John, that paintjob is really great! You are a very patient man! Regarding that mistake i wouldn't worry too much. Camo nets, extra track links etc can save the day.
Erhan, that braille scale Stug is extremely well detailed. I thought it was a 1/35th scale at first. You did a very fine job too!
If i forgot anyone sorry, i'll have another look and write again.
Keep on modelling guys! I love this campaign.

John, your tank looks excellent, What brand of paint did you use for your base colour?.
I was going to use Vallagio Model air Dark yellow for my base colour but I think it will be to dark.
Gary thanks a lot. I used the Gunze Dunkelgelb for base colour. It is in three shades. I used gunze white to make them. The redbrown is from Xtracrylix and used Rot from the same series to make three more shades. Dark green is from Gunze also. Three shades there too, mixed the german dark green with other green gunze to get them. I hope i helped.

It looks like i will be using 95 links (on the left anyways)
The left run i should be able to prime, but i might just wait for the right side to be assembled first.
I might try something different this time for adding sag.

Great looking STuGs all.
I've made a little progress on my Early III Ausf.G:
I decided to scrap the Eduard zimmerit as the fit was terrible so I will go with a Kursk STuG. I have some really nice pics of Liebstandarte STuGs to use as a reference. The kit itself is going together very well.
John - That cameo looks amazing!
Sal - If your STuG knocks out another tank you're going to need a longer barrel!
Jeff S - I plan on joining your Sherman and Ack-Ack campaigns as well so I'll be 4 for 4!

Hello all,
Here are the pictures that i could not take last night, due to depleted batteries.
Suspension components glued on:
As i always like to see the basic shape of the vehicle i am working on, i also cleaned up the superstructure, and glued it on:
Then dryfitted the fighting compartment:
That is where she stands now.
I hope to get some more work done today, and post pics later this evening.

You're a trooper Tony, nice progress pics.
I guess I need to step it up now, John's just about finished with his (even though he didn't clear it with me
) and everyone now is officially WAY AHEAD ... time to catch up!

John, I haven't run into anymore issues as of yet. Most issues are due to lots of flash. Or in the case of the rear lower hull and back plate (where mufflers mount), there was not enough plastic so for a solid mounting for the bottom seam.
The fenders are always in the back of my mind. I just don't know how I am going to tackle it yet.

Great work Tony.
I had some problems with that PE part, that didn't fit perfectly... like yours.
Same kit, so I guess it was my mistake not Dragon's...
Here's my dotted ambush scheme, this paintjob is almost ending my patience....
Reminder: stay with the Dark Yellow scheme on the instruction sheet...
detailed
Gonna get back to the side skirts & equipment now...
Hasta la vista !

Hello,
The PE part indeed fit not as told in the Dragon instructions, so not ur fold.
I just altered its posisition as to how it could be, maybe not 100% accurate on my part, but it looks ok, so i leave it like that.

@Sal great looking finish & I agree if your stug kills another tearoom you going to need a longer barrel or a sign saying but wait theirs more!! Lol
@John love that camo scheme I would have gone cross eyed just trying it!!
@ Tony looks like your kicking arse & taking names.
I still can't upload into the gallery may have to look at a photobucket account, I am still slowly working on the drivers station & will start on the wheels when I get back to the bench in the next couple of days.
Cheers mike

Hello again.
I am back with another small update
This time its the gun mount.
I use an RB Model metal barrel, instead of the 2 piece plastic kit parts.
Here the layout of the parts:
And a first question.
Anyone has an idea as to where to fit the 3 round PE parts that are provided with the metal gun? There are no instructions provided with the RB barrel, and i am clueless as to were they go.
Here the pic:
Here the gun base mounted to the hull:
And with the gun in place:
I also removed the triangular piece of the hatch:
Thats all for now.
