I’ve finally started to paint the Taurus and actually decided to go with the Canadian rent-a-tank from the late 70’s. Since these were leased from the Germans I had to paint the overall German green used during the time. For this I used a mixture of Vallejo model air olive drab and cam dark green. Basic fading was done with the base paint mixed with a small amount of yellow and later used light grey green. Marking are very basic with Canadian markings from archer and the German warnings from the kit it’s self. I plan to keep the weathering simple since these were sort lived and had to be returning to the Germans as they were received.

Ok, I had planned on joining this campaign when it was first posted but realized quickly that too many campaigns tend to make sloppy builds, at least for me. So I opted to take my Leopard 2 and join the Cold War MBT. This Leopard build happened quickly and part way through I decided to pick up an old build I started in college almost 20 years ago. Well long story short my initial idea to resurrect the M1A1 from 1994 and use that for the Cold War MBT Campaign happened. So here I am with this build. This is 95% complete save for some additional drybrushing and pigments and tweaking. Let me know, cheers.

I will post a few more photos when I call this one final, but that should be in a few weeks. Cheers.

Hi all
It's been a while since I've posted anything, but after many trials and tribulations which seemed to increase exponentially toward the end - Add one part, break off two - the M 18 Hellcat is finished. The setting is presumably somewhere near Bastogne, Belgium, 22 December, 1944. The ground had finally frozen, allowing armored vehicles to operate off hard surfaced roads. Snow flurries began late on the 21st, and grew heavier as time went on. Winter camo was added later when the snow got really deep around Christmas.
The first photo is a right side view. Most of the stowage on the turret was scratched except for the gas can, packs, and ammo boxes which are leftovers from other kits.

Right front quarter view.

Left side view.

Rear view.

Right rear quarter view, showing stowage on turret.

Head on view with turret turned, ready to fire.

Looking down.

The weathering simulates the muddy conditions which prevailed when the battle started, then snow, mainly on the tracks.
Figures would be a great improvement, but I was unable to find anything suitable. Space in the turret is so tight that you would have to cut figures apart and glue them in place as the turret was being built.
Anyway, it's done!
As always, comments and criticism are welcome.
Cheers

Hi Damon,
Very nice work on the Leopard. Looks as if you cut it from armor plate and welded it.

Thanks Dick, I plan on going back and touching up the drive sprockets with some more metal and a touch of rust, so hopefully that looks as good. Cheers.

Hi guys I love your builds.

Here are some more photos of my progress. Decals are on, and then I gave a coat of Vallejo matt varnish to preserve the paint. I find that I often rub off the AK Interactive paint if I weather straight on top of it (and yes, I did use a primer )
Then I used 2 washes:
-Mig Neutral Wash, and AK Interactive OIF wash.
Then a filter:
-Sin Industries Brown for Dark Yellow
Then streaking:
-AK Interactive OIF Streaking Effects

I used the Tamiya dark earth texture paint with some AK Fresh Mud washes to the undersides as built up dirt/mud.

Next some minor chipping and further weathering.

Enjoy

Jon

Looking great Rodolfo!

Slow progress for me. Inner road wheels and tracks are on. Now time to touch up the outer roadwheels and add heavy washes and some mud effects. Still loads of painting to do.

Mud on road wheels is almost complete - I will let it totally dry then look at maybe strengthening some areas of damp mud. Then I have to add the sag to the tracks.

Turret will be next.

Some progress...

After looking at the pictures I see a lot of things need to be done. The tracks gave me problems, I shouldn't have settled for the fit, I should've worked harder at it. The road wheels don't touch on the bottom. I have to draw the track and axles together to give the impression of weight. Back to the bench.
Cheers,
FirstSergeant

Just finished my build for the Anti-Aircraft campaign and ready to get serious on this one. Feel like an idiot for not posting my entry back when I took the picture, but here it is. this will be my first Dragon Jagdpanther. I've done plenty of their Sherman's and PZ III's, but this will be a first.
