Gary your ASU is coming along brilliantly dude.
Well I joined the hulls together and what a surprise
the fit is not the best:
I have a lot to do tomorrow so I wish you all a merry X-mas
and much plastic under the tree.

Paul, plastic under the tree could catch fire! Especially with all those lights plugged in and left on over-night! Merry pre-Christmas-eve!

Hi all, hope you can all move again after that feast.
Here´s what I´ve done this evening:
The 50 cal
added some external fuel racks from the Tamiya T55
and the gun shield made from tissue soaked in PVA glue and water.
will try to get some paint on tomorrow.

Right, I've changed my mind again! Instead of the Lion of Babylon; which I can't find the Voyager photo-etch for, I'm going to do AFV Club's Centurion Shot' Kal from the Six Day War. Anything IDF is always cool and the Centurion is already pretty damn awesome.
Should be dealing with my insurance tomorrow so I'll likely be placing an order within the week.

Well I hope that everyone had a safe and Merry Christmas this year.
Paul your T-55 hybrid to turning out really good. The homemade mantle cover looks very convincing.
Gary Nice work on the ASU so far, can’t wait to see some weathering begin on it.
Well progress has been a bit slow for me, by the time I get home from work I don’t feel like doing much. I’ve made some more changes to my plans for the dio, I’m totally building a whole new layout and a smaller one. The base on the lower half of the build is made from a solid block of plaster paris cut to shape. The side walk and apartment is made from foam core board covers with spackle. Things like the garage door, hotel door, security gate are all mode from plastic sheet, rod and strips. I’m debating whether or not to use the recoilless rifle of the DSKH on the back of the landy.

Paul---great work on the M-18/Hellcat/T-55 combo beast!!
Christopher---The dio will be awesome. Great concept going on there.
I have had a small setback with my Croatian T-34. I went to start it this morning and I have no "N" parts trees so, therefore, no suspension. I talked to the fine folks at Dragon and replacements are on the way and they were very nice to deal with. Production is temporarily halted.
Best wishes, Ian

Paul- Thanks for the close up looking awe inspiring I must say!!
Chris- The way the blue Landy " clashes" with the military feel of the Saladin is fantastic!! I think either the Recoiless Rifle or DSHK would look great,If you did go for the DSHK would you also mount the big AA sights on it??
Ian- Well that sucks that you can't start now when you want, but very great that the dragon people are going to fix it ASAP for you!!
Cheers Mike

Thanks Philippe for the comments, I do have a second figure that I might add to the apartment that is carrying an RGP. The whole concept of the dio is around the theme of flanked.
Ian that sucks not having the parted needed for the build. At least some replacement parts are on the way.
Thanks Mike, the DSKH is from the Zvezda Soviet AA gun set and has the computer ring sight for it.

Chris if you were to use the DSHK & now knowing your theme is being flanked / ambushed or even "suckered in" what if you mounted the DSHK with the barrel pointing down as tho they are "surrendering" & then having you "flankers" lining up the ambush as if the surrender is just the diversion to allow them to do it??
Either way I think will look stunning

Mike that's not a bad idea, I could even put a small rag or something in the hands of the one figure surrendering. Something that happens all too often on the battlefield

Insurance basically wasted more time. Random guy looks at the car and says he can't do anything about it today. It wasn't a simple fender-bender, the car flipped one-and-a-half times. Typical failure....
Philippe, no, it doesn't. I hope to see something on my table as well!
Ian, how did you not notice the lack of wheels? Or is that the parts tree that just has the suspension arms? At least DML is fixing it for you.
Christopher, really like the look of the game/door. I assume you scratched it from Evergreen? Will be nice to see some color besides the Saladin and Land Rover.

No, it's not you Mike, my fellow 'young people' are just idiots! And despite the photo it doesn't really look like much is wrong with the car. Looks more like someone attacked it with a baseball bat. Funny thing was I expected someone in a suit or overalls to show up with a tow-truck, I was wrong. It was some kid in a Fiat! Oh well, they're not getting paid since they're wasting time.
I plan on doing this;
The caption that was with the original photo says it was in front of an Israeli armored school from the 50's though the 80's.

Christopher, it was actually the eight spring boxes that go on the inside of the hull. Two small trees in the kit and I didn't notice it until today. Small parts, but too big to scratchbuild or fabricate. Hopefully they will be here soon!

As is always the case. And why scratch build it when it should be there anyways! I assume they're paying for shipping as well?

Ian, I hate to hear about the missing spring boxes. The good news is that if they cannot/won't help, then the springs aren't really visible on the finished model. Just flash over the slot. That doesn't take away that they should be in there. If you're really itching to build it, just jump ahead and work on the turret.
I really didn't get any kits for Christmas this year. For the past couple of Christmases I've told the family to stay away from models. I did get a 1/72 Italeri M4A1. I don't build braille scale, but it's a free kit and it'll let me try my hand at it.

Ian, hopefully DML's American division can take care of that otherwise I'd bet you're waiting for a long time if they're getting shipped from China. At least you're not any more money though.
Alex, it's funny you said you didn't get any kits this year. I ended up kit-less too. Though I was given a hundred dollars to buy some sun-glasses. I'm not someone who bothers with high end brands, period. Another beater pair of glasses, probably when they're on sale at Kohl's and then I've got ninety dollars for kits! Though nothing braille. Then again, some people do amazing stuff with braille, rivaling 35th even.
Mike,I think so too! The Centurion, not Fiat guy. I plan on 'cutting' off most of the hill and keeping just the rocks under the Cent'. Paint the sides black and add a name plate. Maybe a small flag and some relevant campaign ribbons/medals. I think the height and narrow size of the base will make it look very imposing. Light weathering, no identification marks unless they'll match those of the campaign ribbon/medal; I'm not aware of the Israeli's doing unit specific citations.
