Do not worry Guys, I am still in charge till the end of this campaign and I do expect great things in the next few months as this is my swan song. I have plenty of 50 yr old Scotch, tons of very good beef to eat, pounds of the cigars to smoke and 2.5 millon books to read.
I am not ready to drop dead yet, give me a few years yet, OK.
Cheers,
Bruce
HOLY Sh:-XT Bruce,

Tough news, Bruce. Great spirit in the face of such bad news - Keep the spirit high.
I have made some more progress on my Sd.Kfz. 251C. I will be making it with the 37mm PAK on top. From research I understand that this upgrade was made to platoons leaders vehicles. Therefore I have added a few fittings from the spares box to make this a platoon leaders vehicle. They are probably not according to official plans, but more of a field modification.
The 37mm PAK will be the Tamiya kit that includes the parts for the modification of the Sd.Kfz. 251C to carry the gun.
In addition I will be using the Hobbyboss tracks for this instead of the Tamiya rubber bands.

Hello All,
Now I know why all of you live so long. Forget the smokes. Bah-Humbug. I have been smoking 3-6 packs of unfiltered cigs for the last 40+ years along with 6-12 good Cigars Every Day along with 1-2 liters of 50 year old Scotch a day.
But that is me.
Thank you all for you well wishes and prayers,
Cheers,
Bruce

I have made some very slight progress on the hobby boss tracks for the Tamiya Sd.Kfz. 251. The tracks are a vast improvement, but require a lot of work. The attachment points on each two part link is high. This work will be split up over several evenings to avoid it simply being too annoying.

Managed to finish my Emil, after watching very closely Johns kit assembly I feel I measured up.
I still want to wait before I add any to the gallery and experiment with some dusting instead of a mudd treatment. Needing more materials for that and won't go into town from some time, so maybe the next model will get the mudd deal.
I DID paint and detail all interior pieces and will add more pics of that later as my camera batteries died, so this will have to do for now.
I AM working from this laptop so all my comfort features are missing as I hate working from another machine.
So, here's proof it's done, completed and FINISHED but will work on some more washing, dusting and might add those Marder figures to the fighting compartment.
EDIT: The good ole camera reveals all your mistakes and missed areas so I see I have some more work... that is another reason for waiting to add THESE to the gallery.
Man... how I do love this beast!

@ Jose: I should have painted before the fenders and tracks like you have done I plan on problems when it comes time to paint the bogies and tracks. What did you use on the bogie ends? I use a silver pencil.

Hi all,
Managed to get solid progress done this weekend. Completed the build and got the coat of promer on.
I also managed to get hold of this nice stowage set from Legend, which I am busy cleaning up.

Well I seem to have fallen into one of my old bad modeling habits; overdoing it on a project. I kept adding ideas to this one and it's bitten me. I'm still in, but I'm reeling things in and getting back to the original concept. I hope to have a new update soon.

@ Jon: very clean looking build so far, any issues with the kit?
@ Alex: feel your pain partner, I have just gone OOB almost entirely.

@Bob R - The kit is ok. Metal barrel and small amount of pe. But fit is an issue, nothing major but lots of small gaps etc. The detail is also a bit clunky and not Dragon standard. It was not a challenge to build though.
I do wonder whether these Italeri kits are worth it dollar wise here in Australia. They are not that much cheaper than the Dragon versions.
Anyway got some more paint on last night and tonight I hope to get the decals on.

@ Jon, I like the shading it looks good on the vehicle and I can see the outcome with weathering.
@ Jose: I have not forgot you regarding the article, but the scanner is down now so it looks like it will be some time before this happens.
