Wonderful work everyone.
Just some info on German helmet insignia if you intend to have proper historical content in your builds:
"In early 1941, combat troops were restricted in wearing of the red/white/black swastika sheilds for the sake of camouflage and concealment. Although the SS runes were worn alone for some time, these were also discontinued after November 1943."

Hi guys
Started the weather with a Mig warm grey filter, then added a wash of AK Wash for Nato Vehicles. The wash is looking way more harsh in the photos than by eye, so I may tone it down a bit.

Don't go by your photos for the washes/weathering. It is difficult for the camera to properly pick up subtle affects, rendering them instead as either very faint or overly emphasized.

Bob, I think your KV is coming along nicely.
Good lighting is important when working at the bench. I think too it is important to understand why one imploy's certain techniques to the finishes of a build. Many of them are not about weathering, but more about entertaining the viewer - to achieve that wow factor, which doesn't necessarily mimic reality.
regards,
Jack

Jon: looks great. Nice subtlety with the colors.
Bob: the KV looks good. It reminds me I need to get started on my tracks so I can begin throwing paint too.

Very nice finish so far, Jon. Looking forward to see more.
Bob, good start on this beast. Your pure shading seems to come across fine in the pictures.
A little more progress on my Sd.Kfz. 251. I am still struggling with the new tracks I bought for this old Tamiya kit. Although the tracks are vast improvement of the kit rubber band tracks the amount of cutting and cleaning up on each link is extreme. Not really sure it is worth the effort, but now I will finish it

@ Zon: thanks for the comments, cant wait to see your track fingers .
@ Jesper: nice looking Sd.Kfz. 251. What color is that, I think that it would be nice to have in my paint box, also what are you using for mud? It gives a nice effect and I am always lookig to improve my mud.

Jesper: looks great! I echo Bob's question about the paint and color. It looks really good.
Bob: with any luck I can start cleaning my Friuls this weekend. I also got some Gun Blue as a substitute for Blackenit and I'm looking forward to seeing how that works.
Happy Modeling, -zon

Thanks for the comments, guys.
The base color is the Vallejo German RAL 8000 LINK A great color that covers perfectly without destroying any details. It is strong enough to paint on and weather. You generally do not have the base color in advance, so it saves you a coat of paint.
The mud is Vallejo Brown earth paste LINK It works pretty well and is excellent for a light mud coat on suspension etc. It leaves a very light coat, so if you need think mud you would need to add additional static grass, sand, pastels etc.

Nice progress, Martin. Is the figures included in the kit?
I have finished the Sd.Kfz. 251 for this campaign. It is the old Tamiya kit. I have build it as a vehicle from the SS Div. Wiking. It was updated with new tools, radio, and a few bits inside the interior area.
Comments welcome

Martin: nice work on the Marder. It's a great kit.
Jesper: looks sweet!!! Although your base paint job was so nice it almost seems a shame to have weathered it, but you did a great job. The trailer hitch might be a little too clean though, at least in the last picture.
Those figures do come with the Marder kit, although I think Warriors did resin ones in about the same pose, so they could be them.

Thanks for the comment, Zon. I might be right on the trailer hitch. It probably need some dirt and grime as well.
Thanks for the comment

I think I am ready to call this one finished. I haven't posted any updates in a while. Ad I've been holding back on progress pictures for a bit.
First up is a trio of progress pictures of one of the motorbikes. The other one is detailed in the Motorcycle Madness Campaign.
That done, we have the basic components for the diorama set on a base to check size and layout. The base is basically a piece of shelf board that I sprayed painted black. I scored the surface up so the Celluclay would have something to grab.
I used styrofoam scraps to build up the roadsides. I glued these down, then covered the whole thing with a layer of Celluclay. I used GAZ wheels to make the vehicle tire ruts. Once dry, I primed it and then sprayed it a base coat of dark tan. he raised roadsides were given groundwork. The treestump is a piece of branch and the roots are made from tissue paper and white glue. I don't have any pictures of the groundwork being done.
The diorama is starting to come together. The two crew for the armored car are mostly from Dragon StuG Crew Reloading Russia 1941. I swapped out the arms to make the one figure look like he's working on the engine or doing soem quick adjustments.
The motorcycle riders. Two of them were modified figures from the old Dragon German Field Police set. The one patrolling is from Dragon's Panzer Meyer, LSSAH Div (Mariupol 41) set. I loaded up one of the sidecars with bits from the spares.
That's it. I'm okay with it. It doesn't tell the story of the scene like I wanted it to. To do that, I would have had to include alot more pieces. Anyway, I'll upload some pictures to the Campaign Gallery in a couple of days.
As always, feedback is always welcomed and it's been a fun campaign.

Dani, thanks.
I'm liking your SU-122. Did you freehand the camo? That's a great build on an old kit. I've got the same kit done on the shelf. I think she might be getting a facelift in the near future. Come to think of it, I've got a spare set of individual tracks as well.

No problem:braillescaler is a usual builder of 1/72[76]scale kits.
