John, Thanks. I'll probably leave them open. I plan on having it parked and maybe even have the driver using the break to check the engine while another figures watches over his shoulder. The 223 is sort of on hold until I start one the base . I want to get some of the other elements of the scene together before I do anymore work on it.

Anyway, it's a neat little kit and it's shaping up better than I had expected. It still has room to go detail crazy on if you want, or you can build it straight out of the box. I'll have to check over there and see how things are going.

Thank you Jose. It is a pretty small one.

Good work on that tiny tank, really small !! That's the size of a wheel of a JagdTiger ..

Thank you John. It is tiny isn't it. I didn't realize it was that small until I started on it.

Randy: I hear ya, I've barely been able to look at my workbench lately. How are you liking that little kit?

Hi Jeremy. I was able to get more work in until I had four more books arrive to be reviewed. However I am going to try to balance out review time and bench time. I actually like the little kit so far. It went together well except for attaching the road wheel assemblies. I had to trim them all up to make them fit into the main running gear assembly. Other than that it went together fine. Now for the tracks!!

Thanks again everyone.

I cant help it, but the KV seems to be far more popular then the T-34 or the IS. I think most old companies didnt realise this in the past 30 or so years and now Trumpy stole the show.

Ok, so this one is done. I made a subtle shading and wash which turned out to be a bit darker than anticipated, but nothing critical, since the vehicle was quite new when put into action and the colour was not so faded. The dust on the tracks and wheels is Tamyia Buff with some sand pigments mixed in. The decals are not so good and the edges of the numbers are uneven. They practically dont react to Gunze Mark setter or Mart softer. The model is not glued to the base, it was used only for photo purpose, The picter were taken in daylight without additional ilumination.

@ Naseby: Nice job, I like the tracks. The Tamiya Buff did a good job for your bogies.

@ Jose: I missed your build post photos, but I will be waiting to see the filter and oil wash on the SU.

I finally ordered a kit for this campaign, a Trumpeter KV2. After the speedy delivery for my last order I expect to see the kit by Monday and start building that night.

Nothing glamorous but some progress pics.

Just minutes away from decals and then paint the roadwheels, and the usual finishing up.

Can't decide to go with either a clean build or try my hand at mudding, like the article in this months issue of FSM.
