Yeah, I was leaning more towards the mudd as well, since it will be a new experience for me.
Just gotta go buy more stuff now to do it!

@Jeff
If you wish to add a small quantity of mud is easy.... the problems becames when you try to weathering all the vehicle with mud....
@Bob,
Beautiful kit... I have a KV-1 of Trumpeter in 1/35 to start when I finished my ISU-122. The only problem wich I see is that the instructions colors said Forest Green.... I´m not sure about that

Yeah, I'll get to the mudd soon enough.
Here's the decals are dryin':
Still a few more things to touch up.
Roadwheels dryin':
Like John said in the TD Campaign, this has been a fun build, especially getting the AM barrel and maybe possibly some AM tracks too! The stock tracks need to sell me first.

@ Jose: No big deal on the colors, just go with what you think is correct. I either use Tamiya XF 62 Olive Drab or XF 58 Olive Green, they both work out good with a little weathering.
@ Jeff: I see you have had fun with many bogies, I came to a stop tonight since the bogies gave my build the first road block. This Trumpeter KV-2 kit is just way too easy to build, almost makes me feel guilty almost!
Here is where I am at:
1. plenty of close pins to hold the sides.
2. cleaned up hull.
3. parts A8 installed, and the race has started.
4. part A27
5. part C6
6. the rear and misc. parts
7. Suspension going on plus various small parts.
8. and finally this is where I stopped for the night, these took a little shaving and sanding to make them look ok!

Oh good, finally a challenge on this build huh.
I see I'm not the only one who like to use wood clothes pins for their builds! The KV looks good Bob!

Bob, That's a great kit, I built that for the Under a Different Flag Campaign, had had a lot of fun with it just throw a tube of glue in the box and shake it around and it comes out built
Someone even put up a feature about it here

We leave you guys alone for a few days and our pages suddenly become dominated by Soviet armor, you'd almost think this campaign had something to do with Russia
It's impressive to see/hear how well everyone is overcoming their kit's obstacles!
Jose: Small scale does not necessarily equal an easier/faster build, wait until you start building some of the more complicated kits from Dragon! I understand your point though, and your kit is relatively straight forward. Nice job on the detailing by the way!

@ Remco: the hull on your screen looks familiar Guess I need to copyright my stuff (not) I had the kit you are entering some time back and it was ok, had to do a lot of sanding and shaving to align the parts. You will have fun, it turns into a good looking tank.
@ Sal: Yep! I agree with your summarization of the Trumpeter KV kit, it almost makes me feel guilty as if I was putting together Lego type easy stuff. In the end it turns into a pretty good build. I will check out the link tha you provided later.
@ Jeff: just pull out the chain saw it takes care of everything for me. What color/paint are you using?
@ Jeremy: did you forget this is Siberia and we are your camrades in plastic Hey! glad to see ya again.

More progress on the KV-2:
The indie treads were actually easy until I tried to attach them with the number shown on the instructions, there should be (1) single less. The instructions show (8) singles on the front and (9) singles on the back, these are for the drive and return then on the lower there are (2) singles between the (4)piece track and the long bottom track front and back. Here is where (1) piece track should be left off.
I do not have carpet but something ate one of my hand holds, so I made one from plastic rod. The first (4) broke every time that I tried to make the bends then I used a smaller diameter and softened the rod with some liquid glue.
Ok! it is ready to paint (the part I hate next to sanding )
It is now time for you guys to point out what I missed
PS. A photo of the KV-2 for this campaign and a Pzkfw 1 for the Light Tank campaign. WOW! what a size differance.

I will watch your build with interest since I tried to order the same kit, but the shop was out of stock.

Bob: Nice work on the KV-2.
I've managed to squeeze in a small amount of progress on my Pz IV F2(G). Lower hull is mostly done.
Happy Modeling, -zon

1. nice clean work station (you shame me, mine is filthy )
2. your organized progress looks good.
3. I tried to order that kit also, but again it was out of stock, I will keep my eye on your build since the Pz IV F2(G). is a favorite on mine.
Cheers

Bob: I've fooled you! That's my dining room table as my workbench is so cluttered I can't even work there! I don't recall where I got mine from, hopefully it will come back in stock for you though. It's a nice kit so far.

@ Jose: I had a couple of Tamiya kits that just fell together without any help from me.
