Sorry if I have been a little quiet of late but I am waiting on a new valve for my airbrush before painting can commence. I have been watching what is going on and there are some great builds going on.

Sal, Looking good,I am interested in your chipping method, when I do it,it just looks like paint blobs

Jeff T.

Well Jeff like I said I was trying something new and I still cant get the chipping down What i tried was some rust color dabbed on with and old brush didnt turn out that great, you can see it on the top left side of the turret
But my KT was allowed to play n the mud a bit

Well this was sprayed with some Dull coat and I'm ready to call this 1 finished, I had a lot of fun with this build which is what counts
Any comments or suggestions are more then welcome

Jeff, it was worth 2 packs of batteries. the new pics are fantastic.

Should be finishing up my Panther soon so I can join the fun.

Spare track links assembled and dry fit:

They sure look beefier and positioned differently than those on the Tamiya kits that I built back in the '80s.

Thanmsk Jeff, nice of you to say.

Keith that looks pretty darn good from here.

My Panther is done and I will be staring on the KT soon. I am waiting for a couple of PE sets to get here from China. I think they are swimming it over

The tracks arrive today in the mail. It took about two weeks from ordering to arriving. Small package/air good turn around. Since tomorrow is supposedly to be relatively warm I will get them painted. I paint in the garage thus air circulation and warmth come into play. Currently suffering from loss of balance, taking pills. I think that they are working. I just wobble a lot.

I finally managed to get some painting done on the KT which received a coat of automotive acrylic primer followed by a base coat of Tamiya paint.

Tom watch out for the push out marks on the upper parts of the fighting compartment and careful with the allignment of the firewall between the engine/drivers bay and the fighting compartment.

Let's see...6 track treads per sprue tree section; 12 sections per sprue; 3 sprue trees per kit; that equals...216! Wholly crap! Good thing the attachment gates are small and they are the only part of each tread that requires clean up.

Let me ask this--an F-16 avionics systems analyst sitting in a hotel room on a business trip to Florida and cutting off and sanding dozens of scale model tank treads whilst watching syndicated episodes of The Big Bang Theory--just how nerdy is that, on a scale of 1 to 10?

Lol, since I just spent the last two episodes sanding and filing the limbs and torso of a 1/8th scale medieval knight for the Large Scale Build campaign...I will completely agree!

Hi Irvin...That's a great kit but the name on the box is a little misleading . The kit represents KTs from the 506th Schewre Panzerabteilung used to test the new tracks during the BoB . There were I believe 6 tanks fitted with these new tracks but all the tanks seem to have zimmerit..So they were not really what you would call a late KT. Just thought you might want to know.

I am sorry I have not been as active here as I had hoped but I can see it is going well with some great models in the offing which I will continue to watch come together. So even though my written participation has been limited I have been watching all of your efforts.

Got the road wheels and arms done I used a coarse grit sanding stick on the wheels wanted a bit of texture as it's steel on steel.
