The replacement tracks from Hobby Boss went together great, well defined and limited flash. The sprue gates were quite small so caused little clean up. The release pins were placed on the running gear side so would be hard to see, thus I left them. With the kit being designed for the TigerII and the Jagd.Tiger being a stretched platform I did not have enough links to finish the tank so I need to search down a supplier and purchase some more.Of course they are just slightly different than Tamyia and dragon so I could not scavenge. They look great on the tank so far.

Jeff T,
Outstanding job on that JT weathering is excellent without being over board, if you don't mind telling us what you used it would be great cause as you pointed out I need to get my KT dirtyed up

Thanks for the comments guys,it was a good build with no real fit problems with the exception of almost not enough room for the tracks to fit inside the side skirts, and now that I've used the DS tracks,I'm not scared of them any more
@ SAL, As far as the weathering goes,I'm still not very good at it,and have a habit of going a little to far I don't have a "system" yet.But here's what I did and used.
Pin wash with Van Dyke brown and black
Light overall wash with Van Dyke brown
The darkest streaks I did with AK's Dark streaking grime and the rest of the streaking is the oil dot method using burnt umber, yellow ocker, white, and a couple of mixes of those colors.
For the mud,I used AK Earth Effects first and then AK Dark Mud,mixed both with a little plaster dust and used an old brush to put it on with.Next time I think I will use my air brush to apply the mud with.Hope that's what you where after, now just get in there and play in the mud and dirt Jeff T.

Sal, nice progress on the King Tiger. Looking forward to see more.
Jeff, cool JagdTiger. Love the winch. It really adds another level to the model - literally. The only thing is the chains. Some hang in a different direction than the others. Gently pulling them will probably solve it. Great job!

Jesper, Thanks for the heads up.Is this better?
Thanks again
John, It's really not THAT huge
In case you're wondering, that's the "dwelling and barracade breaching rod" mounted on the side. And as you can see,it has the no noise, sneak attack option installed on each end
As always,Model on,Jeff T.

@Jeff T.--Man, I keep forgetting, and still can't believe, that your kit is Braille scale. It could easily pass for 1/35th. The chains do look much better.
My only criticism, and a very minor one at that, is with the photos. Does your camera have a 'white balance' setting or adjustment? 'Auto' doesn't always get the proper balance, where 'Indoors', or 'Tungsten' or 'Fluorescent' will prevent the yellowish background. Just a thought.

John, That's what I figured.I was just being a Wise Guy
Keith, Man,you hit the nail right on the head!I don't like how yellow the pics come out either.I got a new camera because I thought my old one was on it's last legs(same problem). It's a Cannon SX160IS,and takes good pics, except when I'm shooting My builds.I have not been able to figure it out.And I'm getting a little frustrated with it.Maybe I should post something in the Photo forum and see what happens.Jeff T.

@Jeff T.--Wow! And what a difference! Look at all that detail. I still can't believe it's 1/76 (1/72?). Amazing.
@Trevor--Very nice. Subtle weathering. Looking good.
@Sal--looking good also. Can't wait for the next step.
Mine is coming along. Added the spare track hooks to one side of the turret. More work and pics to come.
Happy New Year to Everyone! And may 2013 bring prosperity and more model time to all.

Keith, At the risk of sounding repetitive, thanks for all your help.I only have one problem left. Now that My pics are looking a lot better,I'm really going to have to make sure My builds look good Jeff T.

I was able to do some preliminary weathering, just want to get the tracks finished before I get carried away with the weathering process. As for the track turn around I should have it by next week. Going by the last order. What is nice about the tracks is that they are handed. No confusion as to what direction they need to be going. Rummaging around I should have the decals to depict tank that has caught my eye.

A while ago I asked what the small triangles were for on each sprue on my Hobby Boss track sprues. No one could come up with an answer. While scrounging about I came across some ice sprags for the Panther, then it hit me. They are ice sprags which fit into the small holes that are on the outside edge and fit on every 3-5 link. They are designed to dig into the ground and offer more traction. This is the first time that a kit company offered such items with a track set. It took a while but I finally figured it out. On a side note the tracks that are ordered are winging their way to me. Should be at the door this coming week. Then I can get on with finishing the Jagd.Tiger.
