Hi there now I have my internet back I can see all the cool builds that coming along

John: nice work there, the paint job on the turret is beautiful. What paints did you use? They look incredibly smooth

Alex: the Aerosan dio is fantastic A cool model , even cooler base and the figures really kick it off. Just brilliant dude. Glad you joined in and had some fun here

California Greg: nice choice there, are you going to do a dio as seen in the pic? (Just minus the running water) Or are going to show us how it got there in the first place?

Sal: my friend are feeling well? You seem to going at a slower pace than usual . Still everything looks good though, and I'm am looking forward to you decals.
Nice touch with fuel drum straps, it adds some cool reality in there

Keep them coming lads.

Thanks Paul !

I used Tamyia Ts-3 Dark yellow for the base coat, then added Life Color RAL 7008 KhakiBrown for the Camo.
Filter from MIG & MIG PinWash
From AK, PinWash and Winter / Rust Streaks and RainMarks too.

Vallejo 70822 for the chipping colour.

Some work on the wheels, also gave a MattBlack coat on the tracks.

Hi Paul. Now I'm thinking I'll build the tank and see if I'm motivated still to put it in mud

Greg,
Don't do it! Your kit is too beautiful, build it "before" it fell in the mud. Of course that's just my opinion. I'm sure you'll do a magnificent job no matter what you choose.
Take care,
Don "Lakota"

Hi John well it looks like I shall get some then. I was too stingy up till now as I wasn't sure if 9 € was worth it

Greg it's entirely up to you dude, if don't wish to do the mud then leave it. The Tank will look cool anyways

John,
I'm liking your KV-2.

Odd question though...are the parts there to make it as an original Soviet version there as well? I'm probably going to do a KV-2 for the KV Campaign and was undecided between the two versions. If the parts are there, I can get the German version but still build it as a Soviet version if I change my mind. That, and the place I plan on ordering from doesn't have the Soviet version in stock.

Thanks Alex !
The racks for the jerrycans are on a different sprue, but there are no Soviet decals and I'll have to check if the turret main hatch is there since they replace it with a PzIII .. here are the main differences:

Thanks John. I figured the hatches would be there but you never know. I'm getting an order together for Black Friday and figured I'd go ahead and try to get kits for campaigns as well.

Howdy Y'all
John and Alex: This is a stupid, obvious comment, but I'll say it anyway. It looks like the German version doesn't have a hull machine gun. Also, I wonder if that is a two or three color camouflage scheme? I need to start working on my 1/48 kit.
Thanks,
Don "Lakota"

You're right Don.
The Trumpeter's kit has it, on the instructions and boxart but I didn't find on some photos.
Unfortunately I already got on mine, I'm going to scratch a PE MG protection for the antenna mount or remove the MG..

Here's my progress,

Still need to weather those tracks.

Will work on the fenders and other hull details on the next days.

John looking good there , but your gonna have
to some dirt and dust on those tracks dude

Greg nice work there also, and the video is cool .
It kind of sends a shiver down your back watching the beast being pulled free. Play it backwards and ignore the water and you could think that someone has just filmed this in colour in 1943

Thanks Paul !

Equipment, ammo & jerrycans

I already add 2 filter on the hull, start blending the Dark yellow to match the turret colour, a dry fit photo.

I added another coat of MIG filters and gave a pin wash and chipping too ... got carried away on 1 storage box

Still missing tow hooks, clear red on the tail light and cover for the ammo rack.
Soot on the gun barrel & 2 small exhausts.
Spare track was added after the photos.

Dust or mud...

So next I added some very thin light rust effects on some bolts, plates. I liked the subtle effect maybe the photos aren't so clear.
Some light pin wash too.

Also added the ammo rack cover.

Then I added the turret

Heck I liked the result, not sure if I should add some dust or just let it be like that.

John I like it be like that the way it is
I applied the Russian markings and then brushed them over with some green that I use for German camo green
 photo P1080496.jpg
I found a font that was similar to what was on the side of the tank printed the decal on Testors White Decal Paper but I didnt read the instructions so when I put it into water the printer ink smugged off
I will try again tomorrow

I'm guessing we're right Sal.. I'll take some other photos tomorrow with a good lighting. If I still like it.. I'll leave it like that.

Too bad with those numbers on the turret.
Paint them over and restart the process.. this time read the instructions first

Late start as usual.

My Plan:

Where I am now (only one side of the wing is being tacked to the fuselage):

Heheheh...one of the reasons I'm slowed up; framing and electrical in my shop and the room beside it:
