Oh twist my arm. I'm in. Not sure exactly with what just yet though. I think I may do a Tamiya jeep as my GPW in the Spring of 1944, but I'll probably do something else too... possibly a Hobby Boss Easy Eight or a Tamiya M10. I'll think of something.

Chris - hey any of those are perfect! Go for it. Just take a pic of the unstarted kit in the box is how it's usually done in these campaigns. I believe we start Nov 1st for the kit builds.

Jon - glad youre here! Good choices

Thanks Greg! Couldn't pass up a 48th build. I think I will go with the Tamiya "US Infantry at Rest" that comes with the jeep. I've been dying to build a model of the jeep that is completely disassembled and strewn about my garage; a 1942 Ford GPW from the recon platoon of the 47th Tank Battalion, 14th Armored Division. The last jeep model I built was my grandfather's MB from WWII. Having a 1:48th representation of my "Race Horse" sitting next to his jeep will be awesome!

After that, I'll do the Tamiya CCKW that's sitting on my shelf, either as a USAAF Fueler or more likely as a straight CCKW with a Gaso.line M13 trailer and a scratchbuilt M45D quad-mount, since I've got access to one. Lots of options!

Greg count me in for this one!!!!! Last one was a blast. Looking forward to building with everybody again. Now, should I get something out of the stack or order something new? Well that settles it...time to order some more models.

Best wishes, Ian

Howdy Y'all
I was happy to see another 48 scale campaign, I wasn't able to finish a kit for the last one. Here's my entry.

That's the kit I did on the last build, very nice choice!
Make sure you watch out for the gap at the rear deck (well known issue with the kit). Good luck, hope you enjoy the build as much as I enjoyed mine.

Thanks Patrick,

I was hoping Santa would bring me a Black Dog resin AM set to stick goodies on it. But I'll be happy to build it with what I have. Tanks for the tip about the gap.

Welcome back Ian and Don

The Cromwell is an awesome kit, minus the little flaw in the butt mentioned. Have fun with it.

IT's already about time for this campaign to start Thursday, so if you want to start uploading your pics of the unstarted kit go for it!

I'm going to change what I had planned as I've had the good fortune and honor to try out some new figures that Corsar Rex is considering reducing from 1/35 scale to 1/48 scale. They're Russian Assault Troops. I don't have them yet, but I'm going to find a scene and kit to do with them. I'm thinking a destroyed panzer III in a Stalingrad factory

You can see the first one in 1/35 compared to the smaller 1/48

Hey guys, I'm back again after a very lazy summer on the modelling front! The dark evenings are here again, so can I come in with this one?

Greg, glad to be back and glad to see the returning crew from the previous campaign. I have not decided what to build yet but I will figure that out and get it posted soon.

Best wishes, Ian

@ Pete - now I can see your pic - good choice

Here's my Panzer IIIJ, the turret is started. I hope to get the 6 Russian figures before the end of the campaign. I will do the tank and dio base in the meantime

I wasn't quite sure what I wanted to build this time around, I've got quite a few 1/48 kits sitting around, as well as a half built Steyr 1500 I was thinking of putting into a diorama with my as yet unstarted flakvierling kit. Finally decided on the Matilda.

I'm not sure how I'm going to paint it, though I'm leaning towards the caunter scheme for how distinctive it looks. Perhaps I will get around to making a simple desert base as well.

I've heard rumblings of inaccuracies in this kit, both in detail and markings/paint color but so far I am planning on just building it straight out of the box. I'm always looking for good reference books though, and if anyone could point me in the right direction for a comprehensive book on this vehicle, I would be grateful.

Hi Miniflea

It looks like it depends on the theater as to what physical modifications are needed. The decals and painting guide are off I guess - see thread below.
http://www.network54.com/Forum/433829/message/1342829013/Yes%2C+what+is+the+world+coming+too---

Hauler and Battalion Bits makes pe/conversion parts for it.

Sorry I dont know a good reference, but searching the TRack48 discussion group comes up with lots of stuff sometimes

Gonna give another UM kit a try:

Built their GAZ-AA truck already:

Was a bit fiddly on the under carrage and the vinyl tires are a pain. Of course the BA-10 has the same stuff.........

guys this is just to give you the feel of where I'm going as none of the models here will be used and maybe a couple of the citizens if i can clean them up enough.

here's another angle be dangle, i have some new building masters worked up that i like better and if they come out of the mold I'm going to swap them with the ones in the photo as i feel they're to old and rough looking.
thanks for looking.
hope this works
