I’m changing my build project due to a slight model mishap involving my dog, stairs and their demise.
As the model & stairs are inanimate and you're still alive I presume it's the dog that died....I'm guessing after he tripped you down the stairs with a model in your hand!

No Sean just the models met their end
I wouldn't trade my models for my dog, he's one of a kind and has personality

@Aaron & Jose
Do your builds have some extra protection ?
Extra Armour, ERA blocks, Blazer Armour, Bedspring Armour, BirdCage armour, Zimmerit, Side & Turret skirts Armour...
It depends on your builds, they must have some side skirts, ERA blocks, reactive armour, birdcage armour, for instance these challengers are ok
Same thing goes for the Merkava
it depends on what your builds have

Those pictures are of Merkava 3Ds. That Merkava will be the one I will be building. Here's a simple picture of the kit.
The early Merkava 3D does have additional armour on its roof and turret flanks to protect it from top attacks and flank assaults. Technically speaking, even Meng's Merkava 3 Baz has roof armour, so that could,in theory, be used as well.

If I can dig one up, I might do a Trumpeter C-1 Ariete with the upgraded armor. I have an original C1 done but that one's sort of boring looking. I'll keep an eye out for one.

Hi!
Nice choice Alex.
I have one Ariete w/o add amor and I like this tank. To me, it is "elegant"
Cheers!

Hi there,
a small update on my (horror
) kit.
The barrel doesn´t fit into the turret
cleaning up the side armour,
Top one needs doing, bottom is done:
there is so much missing from this kit it´s unbelievable,
the front off the hull has the resin parts fitted, but that´s it. The rest towards the rear is coming from the spares box and scratch building:
Holes filled for side armour attachment:
The next time I get something of this nature I shall check it through down to the last detail, and not wait 5 years
Have a nice weekend folks
Paul

Paul, are you sure your Magach has side load air filters? This seems rather odd! I might be mistaken, but i think that this is way too old for what you are building! If i'm not mistaken, and i don't think i am, no updated Patton series has those air cleaners. Also if i'm not mistaken you are basing your build on the Academy kit. The part that connects the rotation arms with the top stop mounts (bump stops maybe? ) doesn't exist and will be visible even with the sideskirts. I'm only saying that because it would be a terrible waste to see that detail spoiling your effort to salvage that.... thing... supposed to be an upgrade resin set.
Other than that.... hang in there mate!
I'm sorry if my technical terms are not correct, but i think the pic explains what i mean.
My original plan was to build a Trumpeter T 55. Due to the fact that a friend gave me an Eduard PE set for that, so rubber armor for a Serbian tank would be a waste, i decided to build an M40- 75/18, with sandbags and spare tracks as additional armor. Hopefully soon i'll get my hands on it.... (i don't know if that is going to be a hopefull thing for the kit though... )
My work.

Thanks John, the shockabsorbers are going to have to go then, but the aircleaners are staying. I´ve got some pics of an Israeli M48 at Latrun museum, but without the extra armour:
this I´m using as my reference
I might be mistaken but those sure look like side loading filters to me
.I must admit though the locking clamps
have got to go

I have enlisted.
I think I will do my Esci M60A1 Blazer or an M4 with homemade sandbags.
Paul,
I feel your pain, I bought some resin tracks for an M110 and they turned out to be poor copies of the kits vinyl tracks.
Cheers Rob.

Try cyanoacrylate aka Superglue.
I used it with Eduard Zimm & ATAK Zimm
Tamyia glue also worked with ATAK.

Hi Rob, I guess that´s what they call "live and learn and never buy from them again"
. Well that build has gone
into the bin and I´m only really annoyed with myself because I hadn´t checked it out 5 years ago when I bought it. The M48 is still here I´ll use it for one of the "What if campaigns".
Hi John (Nito74), now I´ve checked my stash and found this:
Is it o.k.?
I know it only has a little "add-on protection", so if it´s a no go you´ll get a StuG III with Zimmerit

Sal, if you can use the gel type of super glue, it´ll give
you a little more playing time to get the exact position.

Use the gel style super glue. It'll give you a little extra time to position the pieces before it locks down.
As an aside, I built that kit back in the 90s. The version I had came with the special edition resin damaged parts. I really flubbed it by not giving it some zimmerit so I'm interested to see yours built up.
