Yes the tracks were the only pain in the a$$ of the whole kit and that I keep braking off the front MG barrel otherwise it was great here is where I'm at now

I decided to go ahead and do the Trumpeter BMP-3 with ERA. I've got the kit so I might as well do it instead of ordering something else. I started Monday and wanted to see how it was going before committing to it. Anyway, I'll get the starter and what progress pictures I have up in the next few days.

Hi Sal,

I like the Zimm and the different tones of Dark Yellow.
Just 2 small details, on your 2nd photo the track isn't aligned just over the idler wheel.

Also the spare tracks are too high, check these photos

The 2nd row of spare tracks should be the 1st row.

I like the figure and also the look on the wheels with the wash turned out great !

Thanks John, those tracks were the only bad thing about this kit, I tried to push them further down this morning but they are not movi8ng. As for the spares thanks for the heads up I'll keep that in mind for my next Jagdpanther, I have 2 more in the stash

Starter Pictures.

And the first update. This represents close to two weeks worth of work.

Lower hull and suspension. It was pretty straight-forward.

Next up, pre-painting. I went ahead and picked out the raod-wheels and interior pieces. For the road wheels I was mainly focused on painting the insides black. The interior...well I am really playing it by ear. The kit comes with the makings of a pretty nice interior but there are some oversights and alot of this won't be seen.

Now to start putting the parts together. What is provided went together pretty good.

Closing her up.

Turret. Some nice detail here.

Back to paint. A quick shot of green to the lower hull and roadwheels to set up for the kit's tracks.

That's it for now. The next step are the tracks. I really am not looking forward to that becaue this one has the seperate guide teeth. The exterior details have been left until after the tracks are done to limit knocking pieces off.

All in all, this kit is going together pretty nicely. The interior really has a great deal of promise. Trumpy could have added a few details to make the rear deck hatches easier to leave open or the underise of the commander's hatch. And there seems to be some periscopes missing that would be visible with certain hatches open. And some interior paint call-outs would have been nice as well, especially for us colorblind folks.

The focus of this one is the added armor so that's what I am focusing on. So she'll be all buttoned up.

Thanks guys I'm glad you liked it. I find that it is easy for me to design ribbons as long as I can come up with an idea.

If anyone needs a ribbon don't hesitate to ask.

Cheers Rob.

A quick update,
the running gear is on and it was a nightmare. The wheels
are too loose on the mounting pins and the tracks.. . If anyone else does this kit then avoid the single track links, even though short runs of them look great.

now to dirt the tracks up and dry brush the wheels.

Sal, those old dragon tracks are a pain in the butt , but they don´t look too bad there. The Jagdpanther sure looks good mate, and the Zimm will take everyones attention from the tracks thing anyway

Rob, I also think the shield looks cool

Alex, nice choice and a great progress in the short time frame

ChiefGunner, cool T90 there, I´m going to have to start on mine soon , if I find time between campaigns

here´s another update, dirty running gear and tracks. I´m sorting out the crew now, so this is almost done:-

all pics taken with my new camera , Nikon coolpix 810 it takes very nice foto´s indeed
