All of the builds are really superb. And, I am really looking forward to updates. I will be starting one of my entries, this week(hopefully). I have a sailboat to make sea worthy. This takes quite a bit of time out of my day.

Matt, I'm anxious to see one of the Orange Box kits built. My spares box is full of newer generation DML extra parts, and I've been wondering more and more if I could use those to really dress up one of the orange box kits. Looking forward to seeing your build.

Guy: The Orange Box kits can use some dressing up.
I think I can finish the lower hull, tonight. I also plan on entering Cyber-Hobby's Pz.kpfw. IV F1 Vorpanzer.
Progress:

matt,

nice start. I just wonder how much better the orange box kits can be with some of the newer parts from the spares box.

I ran into my first hick-up. The rear hull does not sit flush with the lower hull. I'm waiting on some putty to dry.

Jeff T. Like the welds. Tell me about the weather. It's blistering hot, right up until the rain. When the rain stops, it's too humid. I hate having to airbrush outside.

Matt, It's usually not a problem up here, just been having a run of "Florida" weather. I kinda know your mancave situation, there's no way you could set up a booth inside and vent it out?

I have been trying to convince my dad to let me do that, relentlessly. I have also tried to convince him to let me set up a spray station, in the garage. Both have failed, time after time. The best I have managed is to get him to let me set one up, on the back porch. So, no painting while it's raining. Maybe and extra hour, due to it being in the shade. And, I may be able to rig some lights so I can paint at night.

Good morning,

A quick update on the build. I've been able to completed the Pz III build, last night I was able to assemble the figure, now I just have to cast some resin ammo crates for the rear deck and fill a couple of seams. I should have photos soon.

Matt; looking forward to seeing how the orange box Pz III turns out. I have one that was part of a flatbed rail car kit, but I don't like how simple the kit is when compaired to a smart kit. Right now I'm using it as a parts bin.

Jeff; nice welding job.

Sal; I like the Pz III with winter track. I'll be interested in seeing that one as well.

later.

Yup.
Clean up & painting , specially if tou don't have those wheel masks..

But the worst is still link-by-link w/ separate guide horns tracks...

There are a few errors in the instructions. I may turn this into a build review, if it has not already been done. I will be using an am barrel. There is also a lot of flash and one or two sink holes. The sprue attachment points are quite thick and not in the easiest place to remove. With a little surgery, you can move the suspension, but I am not sure if a workable suspension is possible.

more spare track added... last little bits too.... only thing stopping me finishing the build is indecision on leaving the hatches open... just not sure if it looks better open or closed... there is no interior but you cant see in anyway, guess it "might" kick me in to looking yet again at figure painting... keep trying, getting so far and abandoning it....

anyway this is where it sits (ignore the long sticks on the front - they were there just to pin the track in place while they set... will use the kit pins when its all painted up.
