@Vegard--WOW!...wow-wow-wow-wow--Wow! That is one of the best rendered desert paint jobs I've seen. Nice clean build too. AND excellent job on the photography. Your pics look more like they're from a model company's website than a modelers' social-media site. Well done. Will this be a monthly contest entrant?

Keith

Thank you, Keith! I'm quite happy with result too. Used Vallejo IDF Israeli Sand Grey for base color.

Not sure if I'll submit it to the monthly contest as I would have to take some additional photos. Not sure if I want to move the model between display case and photo studio any more than I absolute need to.

It's really coming together now. Just need the reins, stirrups, and some touch up.

I was a bit surprised by Monogram's engineering on this kit. The parts fit together well and the knight sits perfectly in the saddle, sans glue. I fully expected him to fall to the side or lean forward or back. But you plop him on the horse and he levels right up like one if those old Weebles toys.

It's great to see these old unfinished builds finally getting completed and all of them looking very fine.

Well done guys.

Time to start on the Tamiya Panzer IV/D. After looking this thing over, there really isn't a lot of assembly left to do...at least up to the paint stages. Basically it was just a few pieces of the turret.

So she's ready for paint. I started with a coat of dark tan/khaki. I let that dry then sprayed on a coat of sand. I think it gives it a lighter, sun lightened look on the flat horizontal surfaces.

So she's sitting in the next room drying. It'll be a DAK vehicle. Depending on it turns out, I might repaint a Marder I have in to DAK colors as well.

Alright everyone, I'm calling 'er done! I'll take some better pics with the 'real' camera this coming week. In the meantime, here are the final crappy cell pics:

There are a few more things I plan on doing to it, but I'm gonna put it in the display case and give it a rest for a few months. I have another shelf-warmer to get to for the Hangar Queen IV campaign.

As promised, some 'glamour shots' of the completed Revell-ogram 1/8th scale 'Golden Knight of Nice' done up as a regular steel-clad knight of Central Europe (I extended the neck flange of the helmet changing it from a Franco-Italian sallet to a Germanic schallern). This one was left unfinished from the Large Scale Campaign.

Thanks for looking. Thanks for a great campaign. Looking forward to seeing more old kits completed.

Yet another change of horse for me.

I was cleaning up when I ran into my set of AFV Club T16 Track. I started working on one sprue and got them cleaned up. Then I realized I shouldn't be using them on my M5A1 but my M3A1. So I've decided to use the horrible Vinyl tracks and finish up the M5A1 (maybe replace them later with the correct tracks or just replace the whole thing with an AFV Club M5A1). Here's where the kit is now.

I think the vinyl tracks are already painted so it's a matter of attaching those, the sandshields, commander's MG, decals, and clear coat. I'm pretty sure I can do that in a month.

After that, I might go back to the SdKfz 223 or choose another of my half finished kits.

A quick update to the Tamiya Panzer IV. Basically, I've gotten the rubber painted on the road-wheels. There really isn't much assembly needed. Mostly it's the painting and washes left.

Well, well... it seems now certain, that I'm gonna fail to finish my two current campaigns, even after extension. So I'll move those two KV's into this campaign during June and continue with them. I have about 5 to 6 unfinished projects for this campaign, so plenty to choose from.

Tracks and sandshields are on but while putting the upper and lower Hulls together the rear of the sandshields came off. So I'll glue them back on and probably never take it apart again.

Next step is paint touch-up and decals.

I just noticed that the searchlight hasn't been painted.

Finally, I made my mind about this campaign: I'll tackle Revell's SMS Emden, sitting on the drydock for over 8 years...
As a kid, I read some books about the ship, in my grandpa home, (Prince Hohenzollern's, Cdr von Mucke's, Julius Lauterbach's...) So when Revell released it and in 1/350! she was a must! But then, the need to rebuild some pieces (bridge, gun shields, shaft mountings), togheter with a missing shield, managed to put it on low priority...
Now, thanks to Peter Günther Huff book and plans, and this campaign, I'll pledge myself to render a proper tribute to "Der Schwan des Ostens"
Soap box, out, modelling in!

Regards
Javier

Hi all,

Due to major issues I had pulled out of this and abandonded the Cromwell for the time being. However I needed a little me time so I decided to resurrect a project I started for the natural world campaign on Historicus Forma......

I had the kit taped to dry in a box since about January and that was about as far as I got. I unfortunately lost the rest of my pics when my pc went down but I'll put up some more of where I am now. I have ordered some dark brown static grass to try to replicate the small hairs on the beetle's underside and between the head and the abdomen.

Hi all,

Today, I enter my unfinished kit to the compaign. I found the Italeri's 2.5t 6x6 US army truck one from my dusty closet.

I'll try to bring it to the deadline.

Cheers,
K.

As promised a few pics and notes....

Head and body undercoated, which revealed all the flaws I had previously missed. Still needs a tonne of filling in various places.

I have to say having looked at those pics I am not sure I'd ever buy another Heller kit!

Here is another almost done kit for the campaign. Tamiya 1/35 Leopard 1A4.

I have since glued on the barrel as it gives me somewhere to pick the turret up. While taking this picture, I held the turret in the wrong place and ended up breaking a support loose on the smoke launcher guard rail. I intend to leave the machine gun and driver's mirrors until all the decals are on. Some paint touch up needs to be done before the decals (like the M5A1).

Gary,
Your stash must be a LOT like mine. Plenty of almost-finished projects there to work on.
Keep up the good works.

Since I'm in the process of getting back to, and finishing up (after a 3 year start), a early 1970's Syrian T34/122mm SPG, I figure why not jump into this thread with this vehicle! In getting ready for the 2014 IPMS National in Virginia, I kinda forced myself to get this puppy finished. Maybe get some pics of the build posted, but until then, go to my photo section and look at photo 03355 for a glimpse of the real deal in case you've never seen one...
