how about some modern mine sweepers???
Some detail on there may be too small. If you can get me the basic dimensions of the paddle and the box I can figure out the rest and upload it and see what come out.

What about the shell on a M944 Batmobile tool truck in 1/35.
Shell? You mean the body shell? Sure I can take a shot at it. I'll put it on my To-do list.

Hi Michael,
How about some 1/35 scale WW2 German headphone sets? It would really help to detail the radio sets included in the AFV Club Mammut kit . Cheers!
Kenneth.
These would be too small to print and wouldn't be worth the price to print it. Unless you have plans for 25 or more of these radios it would turn out to be more expensive than the current PE/resin sets out there now.

Hi All,
How about runs of track links? I'd love a set of M26/46/47 links with rubber chevrons! It would make for a great replacement for the Italeri tracks. Also slotted drive sprockets for U.S. tanks.

Georg

Bronco, AFV Club and Fruilmodel all make sets of tracks for the M26, 46 and 47. I also don't really see much of a benefit to having the tracks 3D printed. With the metal and plastic tracks they can both be modified and "damaged." I don't think you can really do that with the 3D printed material. The plastic they use is pretty hard and brittle. And, again, the item would also be expensive. I can see it being on the order of Fruils for a set like this.

Mike,
Try actually building the Bronco or AFV Club track! THEY SUCK and don't go together right or well (believe me, I've tried)! The Friuli's are too heavy to sit right (American tracks don't sag for the most part) and aren't properly articulated (the center guide should articulate independently from the links). A well-designed set of track would be perfect (sections on the top and bottom could be rigid) and the parts wrapped around the sprocket and idler could be flexible, making for the best of both worlds.
Regards,
Georg

The VIC-3 components look awesome. I will have to get a set of them.
How about a VIC-1/2 system for older vehicles?
Oh heck yeah, please please , please!!!

Bailey bridge components? The Bronco kit is so wrong! You could do the support bits it is missing (rollers, M1 transoms, ramp sections, etc) or just the panels which Bronco got completely wrong.
I'll see what I can do. If I can I'd prefer to do an entire Bailey Bridge (long-shot though it may be). I've downloaded a TM and I'll start reading through that when I get a chance. I figure that I'd do the bearings first.
I would suggest first doing what Bronco doesn't (stringers, ramps, bearings, M1 transoms, etc) then later replacing what they do badly (ie, Panels!). That way you would make sales to people who had the Bronco, then later you'd get sales to people who realise the Bronco is crap.

I will be concentrating on small parts first. But that's when I get to it which might not be for a while. I still need to read through the Technical Manual and get through some simpler projects first.

So I may get burned at the stake for it, but what about 48th scale tail fins for the Academy F-22. The kit ones are too short.

I'm not sure if I can pull off that shape of the whole tail. Mostly in the attachment point.

How about a series of grab handles for engine hatches and such. I always to have to make them out of wire to replace kit ones. I think nice plastic ones would be easier to glue especially if you didn't have to cut them from a sprue and then clean mold lines, I always seem to break a lot of them doing that.
Well in spite of what I said, I decided to go ahead and model some grab handles. Mostly because I knew it was going to be a simple design, which it was.... Took me about 10 minutes to do it all. I made the handles about 1mm long by about .3 mm high. I have no idea if those are good measurements for them as I was using no references or kit parts to design off of. They are all on a wafer, all 96 of them. I'm uploading them now so if you want to take a look and see if they suit you, they're there.

I'm not too sure that could be printed but I can try it. I was hesitant at first because I had no measurements but there's a diagram on Wikipedia I'll be using.

There are already many, many interior sets for Abrams tanks.

Yes and need to specify which interior areas. Turret basket, driver's compartment, engine, Hawker battery area, etc. There is much that could be added with some cleaver 3D designs. With all the interior additions (ie CROWS screen) for SEP and later, there is opportunity to model new items as information becomes available.

If interiors for 1/72 can be done, there many models that would benefit. Of course, my needs are LVT4, LVTA1, LVTA4 and AAVP7A1 interiors - all Dragon kits.

All right... I'll look in to it.
I'm going to jump on the track set band wagon. The 3D printed sets of tracks for the LVT are superior to all other sets I've worked with. Price was on par or slightly more than Friulmodel but they articulate and there is no assembly required. Initially offered by Hard Corps Models and now available through Click 2 Detail.
My needs are for sets that do not exist. What simplifies the problem somewhat is they are modifications on other tracks. One is for the LVTP6; I have the TM and photos along with the 1/35 M41 track sets so measuring would be easy. The second is for the LVT3; again modified from but this time from M3/M5 tracks.
If they could be printed I would save countless hours of adding 600+ tiny bits to couple sets of tracks.

There are? Please name them. As far as I know there are a couple engine sets, but nothing comprehensive for the turret/hull. (and yes, there is the old Verlinden set, but it barely qualifies!)

OK, well, if you want me to do the Abrams interior get me the inside measurements of the kit you want, detailed pictures and measurements and I'll see what can come. It'll take a while and if it get through to finish it'll be expensive, just a heads up, but I'll see what I can do. If I can I'd prefer to do individual pieces but, again, references and I'll see what I can do.
And slat armor is better done in strip styrene or PE.
