They're actually both M2s anyway (M1 was narrower). M1 transoms would be a priority IMO as the M2 wasn't used in WW2.

Actually bronco labeled one as a M1 and the other a M2.

Work has begun on the LS-688/VRC loudspeakers and the RAFTs! Well, mostly just the speakers right now.
On the top half there will be 4 speakers; on the bottom 2 RAFTs and 2 speakers. I'm still contemplating whether to add the wing nuts and bolts as separate pieces molded on the containing raft or to model them onto the part. Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages.
New update to the speakers:
There's also another option for the nut/bolt assembly that I forgot about: I could draw in the mounting bracket and leave them at that. That would result in a stronger mold in that area.

Speakers look good. I would add the wing nuts so they are part of the speaker, however you have to do that. Can't wait to see them in person. Keep up the great work.

I've finished the speaker. I made it so that there's 2 options. First includes 3 speakers with a shallow hole in the top to insert a bolt with a wingnut. The second includes 3 speakers with a small slot on the top to be able to accept a mounting bracket (and now in hindsight I forgot to add a bolt and wingnut to that). I've finished the conversion of the set from thick wafer to raft so hopefully it should cut a little bit off the price. I'm not sure if it will be easier to cut the pieces off or not. To do will require some work as the parts are no longer attached to individual connections.

This does look good! Please keep in mind how brittle the SHAPEWAY's material is for the part connection points. Would just hate to see it shatter at the wrong location and chip away some of your great work here. Many thanks for this offering. Following closely.

Thats also why I'd advise using a saw or a thin dremel grinder instead of sprue snips. Keep the bag it comes in. Cut off the entire section of the raft that you want and then go in with a saw from underneath the part. That's just one way I thought of at the moment. Granted it does leave many loose parts but unfortunately I'm not sure of any other way as the part sits now. And too much work has been done to revert back.
Also, as per a request I went back and redid the model of the LVTP-7A1 hatches to decrease the base area in an attempt to lower the cost of the part. Unfortunately because of the way Shapeways calculates the cost it doesn't bring any major savings - more along the lines of a few cents. But it's something.

How about a set of stowage box handles and periscope and headlight guards for the venerable Italeri M47 Patton?

I don't think I'll be able to do headlight guards yet. For something as complex as that I like to have an example or complete drawings in my hands which I don't have. And I wouldn't know where to find drawings of the guards.
I'll attempt the stowage box handles. I'll try to make them as economical as possible.

Actually, surprisingly, the prices on the hatches set have dropped quite a bit. I think by about $10 each. So I'm actually pleasantly surprised. Does anyone have any more information on the RAFT component like the component number? For example the loudspeaker is LS-688/VRC but I can't find anything for the RAFT. I'm having a difficult time trying to figure out the dimensions for it.

I've updated the basic radio set. This includes only the 1 MCS, 4 regular FFCS, 2 MOS, 2 RIT and now 4 speakers. I hope it will be a cheaper option for anyone who do not need the Data/Telephone components or RRUs or who just want a cheaper option.

Hi Mike, justs tumbled across this discussion. Seems everyone is into radio kit so what about a 1960-1970 radio set such as an RT66-GRC (it would be set applicable for vietnam vehicles (mutts, M113 etc)and IDF stuff up to lebanon (jeeps, half tracks etc).
One set of say 2 radios, + 1 amp plus a couple of speakers would be really useful.
I have scratchbuilt 3 sets now and would really like not to have do any more with that horrible crinkly surface finish
I can supply info if necessary as I have set sitting in my 1/1 IDF jeep
what are your thoughts

I've set the speaker set to public and raised the price by a little as the only person who had bought a radio set without speakers has bought them. I've also lowered the price of the tie downs/grab handles set.

This was actually a bit more complicated and much more time consuming than I had previously thought. Mostly because the program stopped responding often and crashed occasionally.

Sure. I've found some general dimensions of the exterior but if you could provide of the specifics that'd be great and would make for a quicker model time.

Also, I now present a time that many of you have been waiting for... I have finally finished the AN/VIC-3(V) model. I completed the RAFTs early this morning and now here is a picture of the 3D model:
