The VIC-1 set of almost complete. All the boxes are now added except for the speakers. All I need to do is add the speakers and the connectors and the model will be finished. After that I will try to also put out a M1 Abrams specific set as well as including a full AN/VRC-12 radio system but that depends on when I can get accurate measurements and pictured.

I believe somebody had asked about a Sherman DD skirt? Well somebody on Shapeways makes a set of skirt frames and it's nearing $100.

Thank you. Not shown are fillets on all side corners of the crew stations and auxiliary boxes because I added them after the renders were complete. But they are there on the model. If you want to get one, the link to my shop is in my profile. I haven't gotten this model up yet, though.

Man I really love that VIC-1, now who will be the brave soul to make a tiny set of decals for it?

The VIC-1 system looks great. I will be getting one for sure once it is posted, along w/the M113 ramp pulleys. Great job on them.

VIC-1 systems were used on just about every US armored vehicle from the '60s through the early 2000s with all radios including series-12 and SICGARS. The VIC-3 was used from the early 2000s to recent years with SINCGARS and Harris radios. The VIC-5 system is the most current and integrates radios and internet connectivity.
Just ordered the VIC-1 set. I'll let you know how it looks when I get it.

Roger, there is a current posting in the M-ATV thread where Ettore shows newly 3D printed parts for those radio mounts.

I ordered couple, should be enough to outfit the AAVP7A1's I have in the stash. The P7's actually use a VIC-2 system but these are close enough to fill most of the comm spots.
VIC-2 system had the C11133 (with 5 places) and C11135 (with 3 places) but look nearly identical to the C2298 and C10456 along with an AM7162, again nearly identical to the AM7180. At least in 1/35 it will look the part.

Set has been posted.
:-X Decals are not my department. Frankly, all that's needed is a short white line on some areas of the boxes and on the C-2742, 4 large white boxes on each side of the top face. Also, the C-2742 mounted on top of other crew boxes like the C-2298 or -10456.
As per the vehicles, from what I've found, you can pretty much put them into anything that's been used from the 70's right up to the early 2000's. Apparently the M1114 used the VIC-1 system at some point as well. So anything from the M113 to the M60 to the M1A1 to a M1043. I have not considered those antenna mounts but someone had already modeled them. And I am starting work on those mirrors. Unfortunately I have little info to work off of other than pictures. I'm just making the basic shape right now and I'll go back to it when, if, I get more information.
And I do have plans for a VRC-12 set including the RT-246, RT-524 and R-442. When that set is finished I'll integrate it into the VIC-1 set and offer 3 different versions: 1 basic VIC-1, 1 basic VRC-12 and 1 VIC-1/VRC-12.

If you have the measurements, a KY-57 would make great compliment to the (each) R442, RT524 & RT246. They were used for encrypting transmission on those old radios.
I remember them being very temperamental. My only experience with them (actually used and not just you mounted) was in Somalia - and recall them being royal pain in the butt.

How about tail lights for the WWII Shermans.

Biggest problem with the KY-57's were a second lieutenant. Every damn time they climbed in the tank, they would turn the 57 on, without a fill, then call the commo guy (me) and complain their commo wasn't working

Sure. I'll add them into the VRC-12 set when I start on it.

The guards have, but not the tail light assemblies.
I checked via google and found nothing.

WWII type. This is the right side. The left side looks the same but has a different lens. The base bolts flat to the hull plate and the light bucket is rotated so it is level. The lights are used on just about every US vehicle made in WWII. If you need some measurements of the bucket I can pull one off my WWII Willys.
Post war M series is different.

TMD makes them already, I don't think 3D printed ones would be an improvement. http://www.newtmd.com/Sherman-Tail-Lights

Frankly, Jim is right. 3D printed ones might have a bit better detail, but that'd be offset by the printing lines. On every piece but the front face and rear tube there would be visible lines on it which would kill any improvement 3D printed ones may have.

So far I've run out of projects that I really, really want to do that I have enough info to start on (other than German torpedo launchers but I have to review what I have to see if I can continue with it). Unfortunately, on projects like some SINCGARS, Clansman, AN/GRR-5 and AN/VRC-12 sets, I don't have enough information (yet; I have a connection or two for the VRC-12) to make a good start to them. So, again I pose the question of what would anyone like to see. Even if I don't make a suggestion into an immediate project, if it can be done (or I feel like I can do it) I will add it to the list of future projects.
Also an update on a project with a vested interest: the Bailey Bridge components and eventual planned (but still only a plan, I'm unsure if such a kit would be possible let alone affordable) kit. It's in a state of limbo between temporarily paused and still ongoing. I'm cataloging all the parts against a couple of manuals to see what's needed. After that I'll start on the set of missing pieces. Then will come the more intensive (and extensive) replacements set(s).
