I have a couple of suggestions for ideas
How about road wheels, rear idlers and sponsons for tamiyas early M4A3 and M4 sherman kits
as you know those tamiya kits lack the hull sponsons and the wheels and real idler have ony detail on one side

Wheels and idlers have already been done by others and I think it would be easy enough to just cut a piece plastic strip to fill in the gap.

For the sponsons, Norm has created a fix for that.

What about track jigs for different vehicles for the idler and sprocket?

I can make general track jigs. Which vehicles do you have in mind?

I don't think anyone makes anythig for modern armor like an M1, M88.
Thinking any kit that has plastic link tracks from Dragon, Trumpeter, AFV, etc could use something like that. IIRC Tamiya cement doesn't bond well with 3D print parts well so no issue getting stuck.

Sure, I'll look into it. I know it can be done and I have a Fruil set for the M48/M60/M88. I can probably make up something for that. I know that RFM and Meng each have their own track jig for their M1 kits.
I'll also be editing the VIC-3 and possibly the LV2 models to add in supports between the base and intercom pieces. On the VIC-1 and -5 models I have this but didn't update the other models to include this feature. It should make it much easier to remove the pieces from the sprue-ish base.

Cool, I was thinking more for the Dragon/Tamiya kits and using aftermarket tracks. As that is what I have and not the newer RFM or Meng kits. I mean I could get another kit or borrow someone's kit jig.
Here is what I thinking.
The dumbo ears are for standing on it's end so you can work hands free through the curve. Both the main jig and dumbo ears don't need to be solid. The width just needs to be enough for the center guide to fit. The material is pretty tough so unless your hulk smash you should be fine, YMMV.

I would need the diameter of specific vehicles drive sprockets but that can be done.

Not sure if anybody here has mentioned this, I just found it. Looks perfect for 1/35 stuff and not too expensive.

Am I just not finding the printing specs on their site???
50 micron layer thickness is ok, but what's the min part thickness??

Actually I'm not sure about that 50 micron layer thickness. Considering people here still complain about Shapeways' 29 microns layers on their FUD material... And sometimes even the 16 micron layers even though they can barely be seen.

I have an idea for a new project currently. I'd like to gauge some interest. A set of some current optical gun sights for infantry firearms not currently seen in plastic or resin. I'm playing the cards relatively close with this but would anyone be interested? Again, that's as set of modern optical gun sights for infantry firearms that is not currently being offered by anyone in plastic or resin. Any interest? I realize they would be very small but I think you might like it.

I take it no one is interested? I'll be doing it anyway.

My interest would be peaked if I knew which optics. Live Resin's line is pretty comprehensive. I guess there would be some newer gear in use that they haven't done yet. You are pretty prolific and more than willing to fix errors. I wish the same could be said of most other companies out there. Keep it up. You are doing us a great service. I will be ordering some of your radio/intercom stuff soon.

Eric

Thank you for the compliments. I do try to fix any errors I find myself or are brought to my attention because I also started out a modeler here and I know that people like accuracy. Plus I think it's just ethical to do so. But like I said, I'm playing it close. They will be sights in use currently by various militaries and their special forces branches. And the types are not currently available in 1/34, like I mentioned. Now if I could only get some dimensions of them. As soon as I get information and am able to start on the designing I'll give a better hint.

If you've been wondering what the hint was for and what I've been keeping so tight lipped about, here's what it is. I've just finished the model and just need to render some images.
In case you haven't guessed it already, what is shown is an EOTech Model 553 SU-231/PEQ and Model 551. In the background is the XPS3 and behind that but not shown is the SU-231a/PEQ EXPS3. Next I'll have another surprise sight.

Small update: the sights have been uploaded. They are only available in Frosted Extreme Detail to keep the model as sharp as possible.

Would you be willing to create a VIC-2 system for the AAV7? It would require re-labeling some items on the VIC-1 parts and adding several new boxes. It could be done to represent pre- and post SINCGARS equipped vehicles as the only differences are the loud speakers and remote boxes.
I have an LS-671 speaker I can measure and provide photos of, same with a C-2742 remote box. Only item I haven’t been able to get my hands on yet is a C-11291 remote box. However, knowing the measurements of the control knobs it would be easy to extrapolate the rest of the measurements. I’m waiting on the VIC-1 sets I ordered to arrive, from there I’ll know which boxes to relabel.
Pre-SINCGARS comm excluding radios:
AM7162 (1)
C2742 (2)
C11133 (3)
C11135 (1)
LS454 (1)
SINCGARS comm excluding radios:
AM7162 (1)
C11291 (2)
C11133 (3)
C11135 (1)
LS671 (1)

Frankly, I could simply take elements from the VIC-1 and -3 sets to make both VIC-2s. Only object then left to model are the C-11291 and the LS-671 which can then also be used in SINCGARS models if I get to them.
