My puppy coming down the stretch...
Lots of front end add-ons...
Plenty of cargo waiting...
And ready for weathering and a canvas cover...
Should be done this w/e!

Clayton,
Nice build on your M548. I have a couple suggestions for the front: The two spare track blocks come from the factory with a black coating (initially semi-gloss then fades to flat black). The bolts and large washers that secure the track blocks have a flat steel or aluminum appearance. They do acquire some minor rust chips around the edges from exposure. I can't determine how you painted the two interior headlights which are the IR-driving lights. The IR headlights are actually regular sealed beam headlights, identical to the outer "white-light" drive lights. They have a dark red lense cover that gives the IR capability. I recommend painting them black and when dry coating with clear red. That gives the IR headlights the dark red tint observable on the real thing.

Ok, about finished with this puppy, added a wash and Australian Army markings...
Loaded it with ordnance (too bad you won't see much with the top on)..;-(
About all that is left is figure out a way to best represent the canvas top tie-downs...it's a shame AFV didn't address this...
Maybe I can make the Finish photos look a bit better!

My YPR-765 build is waiting for my paint booth to be relocated from the garage to my new hobby room when work is completed upstairs. It is way too cold to paint in the garage.
I decided to start one of my other candidates for this group build, the M113A1 FSV.
The lower hull had Academy name and symbol on the bottom and two circular hoes to hold motorization parts and above the left final drive was a large opening in the sponson bottom. I sanded off the writing and filled the holes. Fit is OK. I had to use some clamps to hold the parts for the hull top while glue set. It resembles one of those multi-colored Matchbox kits. The turret is extremely busy and is still waiting for more periscopes which had sink holes in lenses.

Time to mark another complete, I will add images to the gallery.
I had a lot of fun, saw a lot of great work, and looking forward to seeing others work and complete their builds.

Kevin,
Great work overall. The rope securing the bed cover is a nice touch and really sets the build a notch higher.

Clayton,
Nice job on the M548, but just a comment on your "mixed load"-- I spent three years in a CAV squadron with M548s, and two years assigned to a Divisional Artillery unit. We would not have mixed Projos and charge cans in the same vehicle without additional bracing and tie downs, and we would never have mixed in 55 gal drums of "stuff" with an ammo load unless it was a dire emergency-- especially leaking ones if that's what your blue colored can represents-- your 548 might be headed for disaster (I was present when a real one detonated with an entire load of 155 rounds though-- so it does happen!).

Thanks Russ, I learn something everyday, and today's lesson was : Don't Mix Loads!! LOL, thanks for the info, makes perfect sense, I guess I got carried away...to the moon, maybe! I only have to blow up once to learn Never Again!!

Kevin- you got the windshield effect and the tie downs pat, the exact way I wanted to with mine...well, learn by watching and doing! Maybe next time I'll nail it ;-)

The obligatory in progress pics! Unfortunately the superstructure armour is somewhat warped so I will have some work cut out for me to make it fit. Ammo boxes and running gear just dry fitted. Once the gun is complete I will prime, paint and weather the interior before fitting the superstructure.

Congratulations! I have a set of AFV Club T16 tracks for the M3 Stuart and I still haven't finished them yet. There are little dimples on each track block. Someday...
