That and an AVRE kit would be the Churchill I would love to do someday.

Informational update only as no work has begun yet. I will be doing the AFV Valentine for this campaign.

Going through the box I discovered that at some point I had actually started the T-34, mostly built engine was hiding under under all the other unopened bags, so Valentine it is.

Considering the number of parts, that's good progress!

More or less snowed in all weekend so lots of bench time. The FV101 has been a real speed build--pretty much ready for primer as soon as the weather warms up. Felt a few modifications to the kit were in order, most notably the canvas cover over the rear stowage bin. Here what it look like in 1:1:

And here is a side by side comparison of the kit cover (right) and my cover (left):

Would have liked to use some smaller thread, but couldn't find any. I think once it's all assembled and painted it won't look quite so out of scale.

Decided to make start on my Valentine Mk II.

Started with this:

And an hour later after using almost one entire sprue plus a few other bits I had this:

I managed to do a bit of work on this tonight. Headlights and mirrors. Jeez... Talk about a ton of tiny fiddly parts for those assemblies.

Cheers

Wow, looking good everyone! Finally got the fighting compartment interior pretty much done on my Nashorn. Still have to add the gunsight, and will add some ammo and storage to make it look more lived in closer to the finish. Now I can finish off the exterior, had some major warping of the big panels so some filling work was required. The elevating pistons on the gun also collide with some braces for the gunshield so have to figure out how to fix that.

Slow progress with the M36

A few details added to the hull

This is the vehicle I’m modelling…

So it has necessitated surgery to the front of the track guards…

I will fashion the rubber (?) track guards you can see in the picture above from metal foil. At least that is the plan.

cheers

So many new builds, some great stuff going on. That Shot Kal really looks neat, its so busy and unique.

AFV: IJN I-58

Despite reserve duty in the rain, YUCK! and work travel, I have completed the Type B. I painted it very similar to a AFV, vallejo acryl, highlight, shadows, klear, wash, clean, streaking, matte laquer. I think it probably came out a little more dirty and beat up than I would have liked but I didnt want to risk killing the base coat by working the wash to much.

Anyway, rigging and some other little things will go on once the base and everything is complete.

Next Step (Drumroll!!!): Making the water for the base. Much fear is noted. Perhaps 1 or 2 or 5 beers to provide courage.

Cheers,
Bryan
