I'd like to be in, I have just started the Dragon M2A1 last week, it's probably about 10% built, got the chassis completed.
Can I still enter with this?
Well, you already done it partly, just enroll for the campaign my friend.

I've already name the dio I plan to build for my Famo , "Setting Up Shop", but it will be in German if I can find someone to translate it for me.
One of my colleagues at work might be helpful but I'm not quite sure what does the name "Setting Up Shop" stand for. Do you mean literally starting up a new (work)shop? If only you explained it to me, I think I could help you with translating it.
Mikolja,
I'm sorry.........yes that what it means..........I plan to build a dio of German mechanics unloading the Famo and setting up a new workshop, in an bombed out building.
I should have clerified it a alittle more, my bad..............sorry. Have you decided what you plan to build yet???? just wondering.
Cheers Mike

I am just about done the M2 half track by Dragon. Couldn't wait for the campaign to get a start on that excellent kit.
I have a couple of the Dragon sdkfz 251 kits to pick from for this campaign. Just need to decide!

I'm signed up. I have a Italeri Demag w/ PAK 38 on order, if it arrives soon. Otherwise, I'll raid the stash...251/1, M3, Sdkz 7/1. Looking forward to this campaign.

Mike,
I think I've got a translation for you
"Die Feldwerkstattvorbereitung" that would be your "Setting Up Shop" in German.
The 'Feld' in the beginning stands for 'Field' like in field workshop and it can be left out. You could also go further and add a prefix to the word 'werkstatt' (workshop) because Germans tend to be very precise also when naming things. Follow
this link to see the diffrent versions of workshops in German
If I'm wrong at any point, please correct me.

I'm quite sure it will be a German Sd.Kfz but haven't decided yet which one. I'm going to bid for those Germans with jerry cans tomorrow
BTW, my name is
Mikolaj... but no worries

Hmm, 2/3 track? Good one there. :-) AS long the vehicles have tracks and wheels, i still consider it as a halftrack.

I just hope that I can find the right figures to go with the models
I'm convinced that you mean the drivers' figures, but I found something great yesterday that would look just great with a German halftrack.
I found these on a Polish auction portal (Allegro.pl) and I think they are homemade copies of Verlinden or a similar company and unfortunately I don't know which. I don't want to advertise the guy's merchandise but if anyone would be interested in buying these I can send them a link. Unless I buy these guys myself
Cheerio,
Mikolaj
Hey Mikolaj,
you was correct with your first guess, they are copies of a Verlinden set, now I'm all for getting a bargain and a lot of people do make copies of manufacturers items but this is only tolerated if it is for personal use, once that person starts to make profit from selling the counterfeit merchandise it becomes highly illegal, the person making the copies, the owners of the site hosting the sale and the person buying them would all be open to legal action involving fines and possibly jail sentences. Just something to bear in mind people.

I've actually found the original ones a couple of days ago. They're not Verlinden but Custom Dioramics but it doesn't really matter...
You're of course right about it being illegal (only it wouldn't put anyone behind bars, at least not in case of figures). It's a good topic for another discussion on ethics, and I've had so many of them. You moved my conscience here and I wouldn't like to appear a cheat, especially not in front of such an honorable gathering as the modellers of armorama, but the case with such things here in Poland goes quite farther than only getting a bargain. I absolutely wouldn't call myself poor but 20 or more dollars spent on two figures to acompany a 30$ kit is quite challenging for my budget. I don't think I'll ever be able to stash 50 kits just for the fun of it. If I want to buy something to build I have to consider a lot of things and choose really carefully not to overdo with spending money. If I didn't find these bloody (copied) tankers, I wouldn't even consider buying miniatures like that, it's just too expensive. It's all a life of such sad choices for some of us. You want to listen to your favorite band? Download the darn mp3s, cause you can't afford the cd at the price of your monthly ticket that gets you to work or school... I know it's bloody off topic, long and sounds pathetic, but it's just how it is. For today, I choose not to bring down anyone's income and give up on these figures.. Please, all of you, excuse my confession.

Hey Guys,
Count me in.
I will start next week with Dragon's M2 US Halftrack. I'm building it out of the box with a little extra from Archer decals. Maybe a figure or some stowage, but I have to decide along the way.
If I'm done early, maybe I'll build the Tamiya's SdKfz 7 with Flakvierling.
Happy modelling.

Heya Mikolaj,
Custom Dioramics eh? I know Verlinden do a set very similar to this but anyway, I understand how it is sometimes, we cant always afford to buy all the things we want to for various reasons, most of my stash has come over a long period, even while I wasnt building anything I was still picking up a few kits during each year plus I got a couple as presents, but since my dad died at the end of last year I now have all of his too, far to many for one man to build, so with what i am making from selling through ebay I am buying new kits and AM stuff, without that added income I would be on a very tight budget indeed..
I also understand that just because you didnt buy the copies, I know full well that somebody somewhere will have, its just the way things are, just as you say, and now back to the scheduled programme.....

Hi Patrick!
Good question there. Since this is a sticky thread, just use this thread to post up your work in progress, your kit that your doing and lots more related to this topic.
Anyway, this is the Official Of Wheels and Tracks Official Thread. So by putting your work here it saves up a lot of thread from popping out and also keep the folder neater. I hope that answer your queries my friend.
Lastly, Welcome to the Of Wheels and Tracks campaign.
