Hi guys!
Well after much deliberation, I have finally decided what little gem I'm gonna build for the campaign.
here it is
I've got the exact vehicle in mind.....A command vehicle of Jochen piper.
I have done some research on this vehicle, but have a few still unanswered.
Does anyone know the number of this vehicle, 30? the picture is unclear.
Reg plate would be nice also.
would this vehile have had the large telescopic ariel mounted on the back, as again the photo is unclear.
Any help would be gratefully received.
thanks
Shultz

I didn't know anything about Peiper before but it appears that he was a really nasty s... guy
I think I'm gonna do some googlin on this topic... So far, I only found this:
Waffen-SS vehicle license plate numbers
but this particular vehicle is not on the list...
and this (one pic at the end of the page)
Hungarian (?) website
What was the period in which he used this 251?

I think the number is 304, but I could be mistaken. As you say the picture is unclear. If you can find a T&OE for his unit you might be able to use the German numbering system to figure out the number.
From the picture Mikolay linked to it seems that there is no telescopic ariel mounted on the back. Just the frame antenna.
Notice also that the name Emil is on the front as well as the side(s).
Looking forward to see this project progress. It will be an interesting one.

Thanks Guys, very helpful, I now have 2 pictures of EMIL, my research shows that Pieper used this vehicle during the third battle of Kharkov in feb and march of 1943.
Anymore photos or information will be recieved with open arms.
Also, any interior shots of the 251/6 ausf c.
Thanks again
Shultz

Nice Ted!
Give us more pics!
It would be great if you created a separate topic in Progressive Feedback and added a couple words of commentary.
I'm going to do the same thing myself today, if only I manage to free myself from work for a while

That is one cool looking vehicle. Correct me if i am wrong but the front part looks like a land rover. :-) Kinda cool.
Can't wait to see the end product Todd. [/quote]
Danial,
Yes you are correct the front of this track is from the 110 land rover.

@Ted: good job on that 251. Looks good with the ammo belts for the MG34 and MG42. Very nice ambush camo scheme Please share your pictures of it when you are done with the crew.
@Mikolaj: Looks good so far Good trick you made with the cardboard to make the track links easier to handle. Could you post a picture of the box of the kit? I am not sure I have heard about this one before. What kind of marking options are included in the kit?
Thanks for sharing guys;)

There are two pics of the box on the previous page of this thread
I will write something on the markings when I get home from work. I think I will try and write a review of this kit after I'm finished with construction.

Thanks. I do not know how I missed that one. Looks like a very nice kit. I have not seen it before. I thought I was up to date on all Dragon kits, but apparently I have problems keeping pace with them

I just bought the Dragon smart kit of the M2A1 US halftrack. I messed around with it tonight and so far it has gone together great. It's parts fit great and no flash around the part unlike a MLRS i got from them (with has been difficult). I am excited to post some photos of the progress

Hey Guys
Waiting for my stowage kit for my M2, I had to put it on hold.
So I started another small kit to fill in the waiting.
I have an old Italeri kit Nr 375 of a Demag with Nebelwerfer 42. I have this kit lying around for several years and now it's time to build it. :-)
I will post pics asap.
The new box-art. It's the same kit only in grey steyrene.
Grtz

Hi Matt, are they individual links? i had the problem of fitting the tracks after attaching the wheels, but thank fully not the stage boxes, i made 3 or 4 link lengths and kept adding them making up the top run first to just cover the top of the drive wheel and the rear wheel and then the lower section to join them.
any way here's 3 pics of the zu fuss as she is now
i'm currently working on the rockets, crates and framework and of course the extra stowage i like to throw on
