Hi Marcin
The Kettenkrad is looking very good. How did you make the snow? Baking powder?

Hi all. This is what I´ve been working on for the campaign, a Sdkfz 250/9 Alte, a mixture of dragon and tamiya kits with some p.e. from eduard and burnt wheels from jaguar.
Hope I´ll be on time to finish it before the 31st.....

OK, I am about 90% finished now, I think this weekend will let me complete my work.
I still need to weather it properly, add some dust, put on the munition boxes and load up the Flak with its shells. The drybrushing near the doors and the steps might look overdone, they are actually preparations for paint chipping. They will receive a few more layers of paint to simulate a worn look.

Watch out for the decals, they are a bit on the thick side. Other than that, standard old Tamiya kit I would say. Not a weekend build, but decent enough.

Yes, I used baking powder attached with white glue diluted in water.
I'm glad you like because it was my first attempt in making snow. I had to try it before White-Washed campaign

Greetings all,
I have completed my Tamiya Sdfkz 7/2 mit Flak 37 in 1/35 scale. Painting was done by Gunze Sangyo Panzer Colors Set 2 for main colors and various Humbrol and Testors Modelmaster paints for details. It was given slight washes with artists' oils, again drybrushed with those. A slight coat of Tamiya Buff was used to give it a slightly dusty look.
I didn't like my end result very much, but here it is... Hope my next model will be better.
Thanks a lot for this campaign!!!

Hey, it looks really good! (And I mean it.) The only thing I'd like to mention, that it looks it hasn't been weathered yet -and I'm not talking about mud covering the whole vehicle, and hideously big paintchips. Some variation in tones, some slight discolorations, some metallic sheen on the edges... you know, the subtle kind of weathering. If you work it a little bit more, it'll be even better.
And I do mean it looks good. Seriously It wasn't that "well, if you cover it with mud, it'll look decent" comment. I honestly can say I'd be happy if I build like this nice and clean. (That's the reason -one of the reasons, actually- I switched from airplanes.)

Truthfully speaking, I believe that is my weakest point in modelling, I do not know how to weather a vehicle properly. I am very much afraid of over-doing things as I did in the past and I don't have the "feel" for weathering. I don't like the "Dip it in mud it will look good" or "Pastel chalk everwhere, supposed to get you somewhere" or the "Complete oil wash, you can't go wrong" approaches, they all look wrong. Local fellow modelers have also said that "This model cries out for more weathering", but I simply don't know what to do.

And experiment... this is what I'm doing. (I'm having the same problems as you do.) There's a very good book (actually two): Building and Weathering Military Vehicles).
One more thing: practice on old kits (or, if you can afford, get some cheap built from Ebay). The complete washes never worked for me. But if you experiment a lot, you can find whatever looks good to you.

Hello! Here is my "of Wheels and Tracks" entry. Any comments/critiques are welcome!
I definately want to improve on my weathering as well as the guys who posted just before me. I also wanted to add the Vinal figure that comes in this kit, but he doesn't come close to fitting into the cab!! First complaint I have ever had about a DML kit. Dissapointing since the 'spread-eagle' way you had to fire this thing looks really cool.
This is a 251/21 of the 3rd company (which had atleast a dozen 'Drillings')in the 25th Panzer Grenadier Div. Late 1944 in the ladye area.
Great idea for a campaign! (I have just about as many halftracks as tanks in my stash!)

Whoops! Looks like the decency software got me. "'ladye' area" was of course typed as the correct name for a town in Eastern France that was liberated by the US 100th ID. If you can't figure it out, you can look it up...since I cant type it.

Really nice Drilling. Would you have in-progress shots? This is definitely one of the 251s I want to build. (Along with 10 others...)

Here is the 251/1. As I said above this is the first ever for everything. The figures, base, and halftrack. The kit was from Dragon. I built it basically out of the box and added various knick knacks to it. I tried to keep the story simple: "We should be over there!"....
Thanks for looking!
-Mike
PS! eh? where do i upload them for the campaign?

Hi there,
My entry for the campaign: the Dragon 1/35th M2 halftrack, only thing scratchbuilt was the exhaust bracket.
Painted in MM Olive Drab and Faded Olive Drab (about 50/50)The seats were painted white, and then received a coat of burnt sienna oilpaint. Tires and tracks Tamiya NATO black.
I tried Teacher's minimal weathering technique (wash, black drybrush and pigments). I think it's still a little overdone, especially on the seats.
Some more photos, uncropped:

Barely finished in the nick of time, here is my entry, DML's M2A1. It's missing it's aerial for now because it's destined to be placed in a diorama, which means a bit of additional detailing and the addition of a couple of figures that would almost certainly cause nothing but trouble for the poor wire.
Here are a couple of pics:
If you're interested, there are more pics in my gallery.

That´s what I manage to do for today....! It´s not all finished, but mostly. It´s a shame I couldn´t post any more messages because a lack of time, but I had a lot of questions to share with you (like the colour of the interior and the stand of the gun....). Hope you like it. . Julián

Hi guys, sorry for the delay.
I will be un-officially extending the campaign for another 2 weeks. This for the interest of those who are still struggling to finish the halftracks up.
Feel free to drop me a message if you need the extension time.
