KV-1 after basic painting. Some touch ups (commander's coupola f.i.)need to be done. To be honest I'm not happy with the result.
Hey Marcin, it looks ok to me, what arent you happy about?
Thank Mark for kind words.
In better light stripes occured to be painted in uneven layers. I hope it will be less visible after filters being applied. Some bigger flows I managed to cover a bit with dunkelgelb. Besides it was my first try at such camo pattern and it will take probablly some time before I try it again. I have practice on easier patterns first.

Mines coming along fairly well. Had a warrior figure that just did not seem to fit the scene; after a few minor changes in uniform color, pants, boots and head, not to mention a little tweaking with Mr. surfacer 500, I was able to get a figure that looks a little like sepp dietrich, sans the mustache.

Not much left to paint. I'm almost done with the exhausts.
First, I applied a thin black wash to the pipes.
After that, a brow wash followed.
What do you think, should give them a light drybrushing with metallics before prodeecing to the pastels & weathering?

Normally I'd say yes Eetu, but to be honest they look pretty good as they are. What did you use for the wash as it looks like a thick coat for a wash, more like you've painted it. As mentioned though the colour looks good.

Well, actually calling that a wash is kind of misleading. It's more like thinned paint that let's the black underneath show through a little. Vallejo's flat brown, thinned 50/50 with water it is.
I think it lookes pretty good too.
I guess I'll do additional effects with pastels or pigments.

I figured as much Eetu! Some pigments should compliment it nicely.
Keep up the good work,

Marcin, your tank looks good. I think that the camouflage looks good and any mistakes can probably be blended in with some pastels etc.
Looking forward to see more

I think I'm pretty close to calling this one finished.
I applied dirt and dust with mig pigments and blackened the exhaust and added stains under them with ground up pastels.
The overal pigment treatment didn't as smoothly as I hoped, so brushed the whole model with distilled water, trying to make the effect less harsh. I think it looks a little more blotchy in the pic than in reality. I'll see if it requires any further treatment.

Great build, Eetu. It has been a joy to follow you extremely detailed build. You have put a lot of effort into this one and it shows.
You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing

Thanks.
I'll set up a back drop and take some more "official" photos to post here and to include in that build article I'm working on.

Looks really good to me Eetu, the weathering sets it off quite nicely. I am often the worst critic of my own work and I can see you are the same as me.

James, I think what he meant that he got the figure to look just like that photo of Herr Dietrich, but without the moustache.
Eetu... Marvellous piece of a T-34, it has been through hard times with flashy decals, spilling thinner and broken pieces, but it still is a menacing beast!
I am about to complete my captured KV-2, but silly silly, I got stuck with the tank commander's figure! It seems I can't get the figure right and putting a commander in that bloody hatch is becoming something of an obsession. Still, if by the way, I still can't paint a decent commander you will get my KV in before the deadline... I hope.

Wot no tools or stowage!
lol, with all those brackets and beautiful scratchbuilt racks i'd have thought you'd have filled them up Eetu! Didn't mean the build itself (which looks great by the way)!

Nope. I'm afraid not.
I chose to make the clamps and brackets closed in order to make it in time for the 'Best featured' competition. Now when that's not a thing to worry anymore, I'd probably make tools for it, but with the clamps and all glued in closed position, it's all but impossible to get them in place without removing some of the parts.
For example I might get iron bars in their clamps, but axes would be impossible because of the handle shape (unless I made them in two parts so they wouldn't have to pass through the clamps...
)
With entries to complete for two campaigns, I'll go and call this one finished, submit the article & pics and think about it later.
I got several photos of the gear in place so (I think) I know what goes where. But thinking about it, there is something that I could do without ripping anything off or making two-part handles is making a tarp to the fruit crate and adding a storage box strapped to the gizmo on other side.
Edit: Thinking about it some more, why on earth did I have to introduce superglue to the straps in the first place? I should have left the ends loose so I could add tools later if I wanted to.

lol Eetu mate!
Never mind, she's still a real beauty anyway! I always leave my straps undone to aid adding tools later. Stowage and tools can help to add a bit of colour to a build but there's no law saying you must include them! Your T-34 looks good enough anyway without the need for them!

Eetu, call it a T-34 "to be refurbished" and be done with it. They removed all the tools for easier access, they will put them back when they are done
Won't they?

That's one possiblity.
Or I could say it's just being reconfigured after the war. But that wouldn't go together with the weathering...
