Bovington Tank Museum a virtual tour

World War 2
The next four pages cover the full scope of WW2 and is by far the largest area. This area will clearly demonstrate the rapid advancements made during war time as opposed to peace time, from the diminutive Renault UE through to the Sherman’s and KV tanks to the King Tiger. On some days modellers from local clubs attend and build and display their efforts. There are a number of tests for those who fancy putting their marksmanship to the test using the Vickers MG or Lee Enfield as just two examples. There are a large number of display cases displaying everything from Gas masks from their inception to the present, to the personal weapons and equipment of the German infantryman. Towards the end of this area you start getting into the time period of the Korean War with the Centurion and M46.

An excellent tour Darren, well done. You really captured the atmosphere of the place. I'm a Bovy fan too and go two or three times a year if I can.

Thank you both. It is registered as a charity and a visit there will be the best £11 for an adult £7 for a child you could ever spend.
