The diorama is placed in a wooden photo frame. The frame is protected with masking tape. Plaster is then placed in it. It takes time to settle so I have plenty of time to add stones and vegetation. The grass is made out of hemp rope. In some places, wood glue is added and covered with very thin sand.

The climbing plant on the fountain is simulated with tea leaves. They will be painted later with artists' oils.

I then made a few tries with the figures and the dodge.

Once everything has settled, the diorama is airbrushed with humbrol flat 29. Once again, several operations of dry brush will give the terrain more depth. The grass is airbrushed and then dry brushed with Naples yellow. The water in the fountain is simulated with glycerin suppository. The placement of the figures is still temporary.
