Thank you Gerard.
I made a little progress.
The base colors were brushed on using very thin layers of paint (almost as thin as water).
Cu folks ! G.

JBA, if you are in for another surprise of mine...I changed the look of the front of the house.
I wasn't completely satisfied because the house didn't have the typical 'Normandy' look. I wanted to add more colors and structure, so I covered the bricks between the wood with colombage.
Here's a small update.
This was the old situation :
The reference picture that made me decide to give it another try :
This is the result so far, it's not done :
A detail/close-up shot :
Cu guys ! G.

G'bye!

Hi Guy,
I don't know if the change was really necessary, but the result looks great also. I would eventually have left a bit more bricks looking through your cover.
Well done
Claude

Alexandre : I'm glad you stay tuned to my topic. You think the new look is great, this gives me confidence in my decision ! Tx !
Claude : I wanted to add more color to bring life in the house. I think sometimes a builder must dare to forget all the effort he put in a job, and change the whole thing dramatically. Tx for your kind reaction my friend.
Bob : "gone mad" is the right choice of words, I'm simply addicted to this kind of modelling, no expensive stuff involved, only imagination and cheap materials are !
James : I try to update as much as possible, but if you like I will make a feature (I just need time enough to do this, I want to spend each minute in creating, building, composing... ).
Next update :
I have made two shutters (? is this a correct word for it ?) and used this picture as a reference :
They were made from plastic sheet and wood texture was carved by using a scalpel and a file.
The house front :
Now I have to complete them, ...and then paint time !
Bye guys.

Hey Peter, I don't understand what makes you think that I stop updating my topic on Benelux ?
But I like big A as well and I have a lot of respect for the builders here, I like to share my experience with every builder around the world, so this is the place to be !
And to be clear : I would never fly over a good friend's topic, check it out my good friend.

Update of the small window :
I chose to use yellow transparent plastic sheet to complete the old window.
Cheers, Guy.

Carlos : thank you, your opinion means a lot to me, but to be clear, I didn't use spackle to fill the brickwork, it was plaster. It works good for me. I sand here and there where necessary, depending on the effects I try to achieve. When this is dry, I brush on thinned wood glue to make the construction stronger, it hardens the cork too. I did use spackle (the Reno filler stuff to fill up holes and small damage in plaster...) between the wood to create the colombage.

Update shutters :
I've made long iron hooks (there must be a better word !) for manipulation of the shutters (comes in handy for short armed people, they won't fall out the window no more ), I used this photo for reference :
The holes in the wood will be replaced by more accurate stuff, tomorrow !
Bye ! G.

Yes Guy,
That was exactly what I meant.
Peter.
(I post it here, for you obviously didn't have the time to upload it on the Beneluxdepartment, you tellyaddict )

Hello friends,
I've filled the holes in the wood with big nails. I thinks this is more convincing, and the look is more medieval, just what I was looking for.
Again, my reference pic, now for the nails :
This is the result :
Left is done, right is the old situation :
Better I hope ?
Thanks for watching friends ! G.
