Hi gentlemen!

Claude, thanks for your comment, I'm not sure of what pic you're talking about, but I take time to take correct shots, in order to reach the closer aspect of the house on the pics I bring you. Each tile is painted individually, with a wide range of redish pink, to get this mediterranean look. I'm glad you like it.

Bill, thanks for following this thread! I hope you all will like this little update.
Today was shutters day. After wasting my time trying to do it in wood, I finally made it in heavy paper. Just right for 35th scale.
The shutter's frame is in light wood. And the details are in PE spare part.

Trying to post each day, even a little update, I hope you still following.
G'bye !
A.

Alexandre, you're pretty much right to use some paper to do some stuff, that's a very nice looking shutter you have been doing!

Guy, I found myself thinking about making a larger dio all day. At the beginning, I just wanted to make a small vignette, but now...
Don't know.
I've bought 2 bases, and don't know which one I'll choose.
That's your stunning work that makes me hesitate!
Cheers and thanks for the kind words. A lot to do on this house.

Hey Alexandre, It sounds familiar !
When I started my own diorama, I was intended to make a cork gate only. But the ideas kept growing and developing, so I had to rework the story slightly. If your story (diorama) is solid enough, why not make it bigger ?

Go for it Alexandre, your work is stunning so think BIG my friend ! By the way, people love your topic

Guy.

Holy snikies! That whole setting is becoming quite massive! Are you planning to put a destroyed British tank or artillery piece in your diorama or only a few German paras and donkeys

Nice work on the house and bow!

Hi Viennant, no I wont realize a destroyed Commonwealth tank, first cause they were very few in the Creforce, and second cause I don't know nothing about allied vehicle!!! A morris could be so nice.

That's hard to find german stuff used in Crete.. Kettenkrad, Pak36, and donkeys... I don't know the DML Kettenkrad kit. So if a gentleman here already built it, I would be glad to know his feeling.

Nikos, that's such a pleasure to see you are interested in this work. And in a perfect french language! I'm so glad greek are onboard. Thanks a lot for following!

Hello Gents,
First I want to thanks everybody here, I'm a slow slow modeler, so I'm glad there is still great comments, great feedback and great people who follow this topic.

Here are the pics, with the very very beginning of the groundwork.
I first do a layer of natural self hardening clay, then various layers of wood glue mixed with a sticky stuff that contains aggregates to get a texture effect. Then, I display the dust, the sand area, and each stone which is glued individually on the ground.

You'll see a dark brow stuff, this is the sand I use, remember, it's unpainted

Bye!
Alexandre.

Hi Alexandre,
In an earlier reply there was a mention of adding a tank, but you were unsure as to what was avaible on Crete.
In my copy of the New Zealand Offical History of New Zealand In The Second World War: Crete there is a photo of a disabled Mark 6 light tanks commanded by Lt Col Farran.
There is also a photo showing a Bren carrier.
I've included the link to the online version FYI.

You may find some other useful information /inspiration there.
