Thanks Martyn, I'm glad to see you're still onboard.
Wow Zisis, I'm so flattered, but I found my inspiration here with all the great works posted on this forum and all the constructive posts included yours, about low walls or tiles.
I'm a diorama maker, but I have almost no skills when it came to AFV modelling .
Chris, I found very great pics and ressources on this site. Thanks a lot for sharing. Unfortunately, as I said, I don't know nothing about allied AFV, so I don't feel myself skilled enough to work with a Morris, a Bren carrier or even a tank. My next improvement I hope will be a better knowledge of Creforce and Commonwealth uniforms.
Please let me share a pic I've got. There won't be POW in my dio, but probably my next one will be Far east dedicated. So I have to familarize myself with Commonwealth tropical uniform.

Very appropriate groundwork. Looks good.
Thanks for sharing that interesting photo. It looks like a good reference for the KD uniform.

Hi neighbour, I think it's pretty good, I really like the way the road curves, any global picture to shw complete with buildings?
What i prefer above all with that work -and that's the same thing with your other diorama -is the way you have been scattering stones and ground cover, this seems to come from someone who's got "the eye" and that's good sign for things to come. However, what's the use of "priming" a diorama base?

Nice work Alexandre. I agree with jba, a nice natural random look to the whole thing. I think your choice of basecoat will work out nicely. I would think it will influence the top colors that you paint next and will help out with the dusty, dry feel of the scene.
This is really great work.

my granpa served in crete. he was a fallscrim jager and apparently he and his squad spent most of the time driving around in a "liberated" ford truck :P he was later made a mechanic, and then they sent him to work in the heinkel factory.

Hi there!
I have to say, that I really like this diorama. It's different to other dioramas because this one breathes a kind of atmosphere...
Anyway, nice work!

Awesome. I have a great interest in the Crete Campaign as I had a Grandfather there. Progress is excellent and I am learning from your skills.

Hello there!
Thanks all of you for following this topic.
JB > Priming the ground for 2 reasons : First, that's glue the sand I spread on the clay, and as Bill said, that's help me a lot when doing the desaturated dusty ground, cause start coloring from greyish white is so easy when you do light moutain dust.
Here a very litle update.
I've done most of the "Basic" ground paint stages. A Tamiya decktan layer, then each stone is painted, ranging from red ocre to extra white.
Lets the pics talk :
G'bye all!
Alexandre.

it looks really good, after trying the cork technique myself and seeing what people can do with it i can see the real potential.
Ps if your in the UK or Europe, Lidl do 2 circular cork thingys at around 1-2 mm thick for 79p.

Hey Alex
Fantastic creation you have here mate. You have a keen eye for realism and the placement of the elements seem to be quite pleasing to the eye. I look forward to your application of paint

Hello there!
Last days in town were so warm that I can't take a walk outside. So it's happy days for my Crete dio. I stayed locked in my "hobbyroom" to work.
As usual, I'm so flattered to get comments from you. I need boost to finish it and you all give me what I need.
I hope, you are still here and still like my work. I take confidence with your feedback and hope keep on improving the various things I show you.
Goodbye and thanks for being there.
Alexandre.

Yo Alexandre,
Great setting you have there....very nice scratch work.
The larger piece of the wall ( where the arche ends ) will be great with a fading commercial sign overgrow by an old tree...
Nice, very nice!
