Can you see this gentlemen?
This is the workbench of a guy who get bored of making ferns.
As a break, I'll begin a new build log here, dedicated to operation MERKUR.

First step, Check out references, "Fallschirmjäger en Crete" by H&C, THE book about mercury.
and a Concord, "FJ from glory to defeat."

To begin, I'll make a convertion on figures. As the early FJ's Jump Smoke isn't widespread in resin, I will update some Verlinden stuff with....styrene!
Hornet heads, DML Gen 2 accessories and more.

Stay tuned, more to come over Kreta.
Cheers, A.

The Crete campaign is one of particular interest to me, and so i'll be very interested in this blog.
Have a dio of my own i'd like to make one day using the same DML Gen 2 set and so i'll be interested to see how you tackle this.

Here's the first figure.
Torso and legs, pouches, bread bag and holster are from Verlinden.
MP40 and water can are from Nemrod.
Arms and FJ's gasmask are from DML, as the helmet.
Head is from Hornet.

Regards.
A.

Thats good start to continue with.

I managed to buy this very same kit from a fellow modeller, and I am planning to use it for Blitzkrieg 2: Africa campaign that will include Mediterranean isles too.

It is late for me too and I am suppressing my biggest fj fever by doing fj from ardennes for fallschirmjäger campaign.

Hi Alexandre,

I'm following your work for a while and I'm wondering what kind of paint you use for figures... The "Frankensteining" of the figure worked out really well btw. I'm looking forward to your groundwork

Bye,

Well, thanks for following wijnand,
but what do you mean by frankensteining? an undead fallshirmjäger?
I use 95% distilled water, and 5% of Vallejo, mixed sometimes with artist's acrylics.
and about an hundred of layers....

With "Frankensteining" I mean; using all kind of parts from different kits to make one figure.. . (Like the monster Frankenstein )

Chas, my friend, thanks a lot for your comment! But I'm not sure about my cretan house...I mean, I don't like it, maybe because it isn't finished yet... So i'll begin a new one. Thanks again.
