Ok I'm going to build two Leopard 2A4s. One is the Hobby Boss kit and the other the Revell. I have two upgrade kits from Perfect Scale and PE from Eduard. Should be a good to see what kit is the best.

Will follow this with interest Chris! The perfect scale stuff looks pretty nice, I always wondered why Tamiya didnt do a decent 2a4 kit.

Hey Rob, Tamyia sorta missed this one. What would be good is a kit from Dragon of the 2A4 like there Abrams kits, that would be great. With this PS kit you can build the perfect Leopard its got it all.

Its a great kit. Everthing you need. Good timing with the release of the Tankograd book on the leopard.

The PS kit doesn't come with a barrel you have to buy it separate I bought one and copied it with parts from the HB kit and the spare barrel from the Tamiya 2A6 kit. saved 10 Euros.

Here's the three barrels the PS in the middle and the bad HB on bottom the Revell barrel is in the garbage.

cutting the good part of the HB barrel

I'll have some updated pics soon. The Revell kit seems to be winning over the Hobby Boss kit to this point I'll have a better report with the pics.

Chris, I am also building a Leopard 2A4 from from Hobby Boss. I have a question that maybe you or someelse can answer. I'm going to paint it in the Nato camo scheme. I also to put on a camo netting that I saw in Osprey's New Vanguard Leopard 2 book. Is this netting something that can be purchased from a after market company or can it be scratch built. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

hey Jeff the HB Leopard is a nice model. As for the nett Echlon has a net in the works that is due to the market soon. Check their site. The alternative is a guze and spice net. Drap the gaze were you want the net then spray on some white glue and some spice and paint it looks good. I'm sure someone will link to an example. If not there is a nice HB Leopard on this forum of a net made with guze just search Leopard in the modern forum.

got some new pictures of extra detail added to the Revell kit.

I rebuilt the commanders periscope cover. Added small bolts under the site and I made a mount for the smoke discharges.

Here's some weld seems made with stretched sprue. The top of the turret has great welds but they forgot the side. Its the oppsite with the Hobby Boss kit.

This is the most accurate screen for the Leopard. It comes in the Perfect Scale kit so far the parts from the perfect scale kit work good with the Revell Leopard. With the Revell kit less parts from the PS is needed.

There not to hard to do but I did make a little discovery withe the paint on the model I could put more liquid cement on and not melt the surrounding plastic only the stretched sprue melted.
