Hi Jerry,
Just came across this one, terrific work on the wagon and horses and figures so far.
Impressive work, I'll look forward to further developments.
Excellent subject.

Jerry-- great job as always. My question is in regard to your use of filler on the horses. What type are you using...white putty from Squadron? How do you remove the excess and create the smooth finish?
Many thanks
DJ :-
Thanks for the kind words DJ,
I use plumbers' type two part epoxy putty. It has a pretty good working time to sculpt with so there isn't much to remove when it's dry. It carves and sands very well when dry.
Old Shep Paine trick.

Jer,
Glad to see you gettin' yer mojo back and that you've resurrected a couple of works-in-progress.
This one and your German patrol in North Africa were always a couple of my fave's. Hope you can sustain suppressive fire on these targets...

Yeah, it seems "euro-football" is getting popular in the US of A!!
Anyway, you deserved to enter the 8th finals!!
BTW did you know that Austria is not bad at all at American Football!!! Only Germany could snatch the Euro-cup away from us!!
Cheers

No,I didn't know about the american football thing over there. What I don't get is how we have a lot of people over here that still say soccer is"not exciting" and bores them. There is no down time in soccer like there is in baseball or football for one thing. I was shouting at the tv a whole bunch for a game to be boring, that's for sure!

Did some touch up painting on the wheel horse rider. I think I got him to "pop" a little more anyway.
Couldn't resist some quick shots.

Nice to get back at this. Have to repair some storage damage though. I always hate doing that. One step backwards.

What really hits me is how much the figure blends with the horse he's on. Not in that they're the same color, obviously haha, but that they just complement each other perfectly. I don't know what does it though, maybe the shading? Weathering?
Great stuff, really glad this thread's been resuscitated.

You know Jerry, it's tough to say anything about any of your projects!!!! they all look so damn good! I can say, they are clearly a great inspiration for me - I guess I can comment that I particularly like you attention to subtle detail - man!
Ok - glad to see you're at it!

And yes, I'm glad too you are at it again!!! And the USA are going to snuff the Belgians!!

Lesson I learned long ago the hard way. Always make sure everything fits! THEN finish it off with details and painting.

Well Nick,
you would be the guy to mention attention to detail as that is your forte.
I still can't believe I am looking at model buildings when I check your threads(constantly).

Belgium....hmmmm. Never underestimate any threat!! We took our eyes of Ronaldo for a split second and he set up a very very nice strike!
I don't know how these guys find these holes that open up for just a micro second.

Yes!! DITM number two is my favorite out of the three so far. Because it covers my old Regt probably makes me think that way.
Good stuff in all three though, even though the third one covers those guys in that "other" Regt, the 505PIR.

Keep checking out ebay and amazon. You may hit the jackpot one day,who knows? Also, keep going to model shows and check the vendors. I have scored some major deals at those already.
