Hi all,
Question! would it be reasonably accurate to put a polish recognition flag on the staghound, draped over the stowage?
May be a silly question.

Acurate I don't know, but i realy like to see how it would look. Hypothetical scenarios are always interesting.

Gary,
I just stumbled on to this build - nice work. I've built both the Italeri and Bronco versions of the Staghound MkI. Both good kits in my opinion.
I just finished painting and weathering the Italeri Stag and now waiting for the Legend stowage set for it. I might have missed it in your blog, but what colors did you use to paint the stowage?
Steve

Not sure. Did the Allies use recognition panels in Italy? They did in NWE and I would imagine that the Poles would have used whatever the Allies were using.

Hi all,
Steven - thanks for the comments man! The 3 colors i used as basecoats for bags/tarps were olive green, flat earth, and Buff, all tamiya. hightlite colors were mixed with vallejo. i just eyeballed the color.
i guess i need to ask a more in depth question in a better forum here to find out about recognition panels/flags.
ive made more progress on chipping, stowage, and i made a tarp from majic sculpt. still need tiedown ropes for rear tarp and some more stowage for turret. heres where im at now.
Thanks for looking!

Super job Gary, the model is very impressive.
Please post it to me (along with your Jadgtiger) so that I can further inspect the level of detail. I promise to post it back

i think doing the stowage is gonna take longer to complete than the kit did. but it will be worth the effort.
Probably will, but its what makes a good model a great model! People tend to tire at the end of a build or already have plans for the next, but in reality this is where the real effort is needed. All those little touches make the difference and is time well spent. When youŽre finished, take a few days off and then come back to it and see what you think ... with fresh eyes. YouŽll be amazed how much of this sinks in and youŽll start incorporating more of this into your initial build and painting.
Love the stowage Gary ... the colour contrast adds a lot to the base vehicle and painting effect. When youŽre finihsed, spray a very thinned "filter" over the whole model ... to tie all together, so the stowage looks like it has travelled with the vehicle and not just plonked there for the photos. If you add any further weathering, like mud splashes or dust on the lower chasis, make sure the stowage is included!

Hi Phil,
Thanks for the kind words! The Mesh/neting was made from a curad medical gauze pad and dilluted white glue. the ropes were made from kite string painted brown.

Thanks for looking!

I mean fed-ex to me, post is an english term to sent to me.
After several years in my showcase I promise to send them back.
Your Jadgtiger is probably one of the best models of that tank destroyer that I have seen.

Hi Gentlemen,
Vittorio, Peter, and Zon. Thankyou very much for you kind comments.
Steven - wow! do i feel silly. you would think i knew what you meant by "post it to me" considering my family ancestry is scottish and english with a pinch of choctaw american indian. id love to post it to you, however i think the shipping charge would drain my wallet which stays empty most of the time.
i thank you for the comments on the Jagdtiger. its one of my favorites.
im pretty much finished with the staghound but im haveing my nephew take some proper pics of it. hes got a model photo setup. when thats done ill post the Staghound hopefully in the feature. well see.
Thanks to everyone for following along and for the kind words and encouragement. i very much appreciate it!!!

HI Jesse,
What a coincidence that YOU ask me that question. i was recently inspired by a certain "T-55 WIP". im sure your familiar with it. after following that thread i have my modeling juices flowing to my T-62 Mod72 from trumpeter. so thats it. my next project is a Syrian T-62!

Awesome! I hope to see some photos if not another build log for that one.
I have to say, the T-55 was a lot of fun to do. I'm not typically a post WWII guy, but it worked out well. Of course, still have lots to do to get it ready for the AMPS show in a couple weeks.
