Hi, All!

THANKS to everyone for the "MASTERS" info and the link!

I still have one of the MASTERS M4 Tractors un-built, the GMC CCKW-353 Workshop Conversion, ONE WWII Dolly for the AFV CLUB 155mm Gun/8" Howitzer, and a few other little "odds and ends"... I'll have to pay those guys a visit! Always wanted to get one of those Chevys, too!

Yes, Scale-Link is good people!

Down thru the years I have gotten:
- 3 AFV 155mm/8 inch gun back date sets, one with the M1 Limber.
- a 20 ton flatbed trailer for my D7 Bulldozer.
- the canvas cover for the HST.

I wish them well and hope for many more years of success!

Strange you should mention Scale Link. A few years ago (I think more than ten now) I picked up their 1/32 (54mm) Rolls Royce Armored Car and Renault FT17 at a local IPMS show. Paid $40 for both. They are beautiful white metal kits, but I traded the RR away a few years ago, having purchased an equally beautiful 1/35 Resicast RR. Scale Link is one of those companies that “lurks in the background”, but produces some beautiful stuff. I don’t think they produce much of their own white metal items anymore though do they?

Russ, I don't know how their production system works, all I can say is the white metal axle that forms the backbone of their M1 Limber for the AFV guns is outstanding and their resin quality is excellent!

155mm back-date wheel kit and the M1 Limber from Masters Productions/Scale-Link. (The wheels, associated gun parts and the Limber are sold as a single set. The wheels are available separately.)

Michael, I actually have that same exact set hiding in my AFV Club 155 Long Tom kit-- but I've not had the "opportunity" to build it yet. It looks really good in your photos though. I kept the Renault FT17 in 54mm, because I have a 54mm mounted figure of a German Uhlan lancer in gas mask and holding a lance-- can't remember who made it right now. It's been my goal to put the two in a diorama. The FT17 is really an incredible piece-- complete with engine and interior. I got the Wild idea to solder it together (I do a lot of resistance soldering), but I could not get the metal parts to accept solder. Guess I'll use "old school" epoxy-- not sure what Scale Link uses for metal. It's not lead, and it's not nickel, but it is heavy.

You are correct Henri the limber set is made by Masters Productions and not Scale-Link. However Scale-Link has been bringing some lines "in house" so it is difficult to tell just who is actually making what.

Thanks Mike for rendering to Masters the things that are Masters's ....on the French National Day "Cocorico!"

On a side note, some Masters sets can now be found under the U-Models label.

U-Models stuff is available from several webstores (mostly French ones) but many items are out of stock...Not a good omen if you ask me

I know at least one manufacture is (or was) in the planning and design stages for the model. (Not allowed to say who.) So much so that I had turned over copies of all my reference materials to them in the hopes that it might assist in the production - but still nothing and have heard no word of progress.

The never ending Question Mark?

F.Y.I. - Regrettably Jock Littlefield's Mack NO was recently sold at Sotheby's Auction for $43,000.



The regrettable part is that Jock is no longer around to enjoy his wonder collection. - Hats off - RIP.

Gosh, there are so many things wrong with this Mack NO and yet it is still quite beautiful if you ask me!



The winch is gone. The brush guard is wrong. The front bumper and cross member look to be from a Ward LaFrance recovery truck. I think the front axle has come from the same donor vehicle. Then the front fenders appear to have been taken from a British Schemmel and then given some additional sheet metal modifications.

Still it makes for an attractive and interesting vehicle!

As to a hobby manufacture willing to take on the production of a new model Mack NO - I have seen a few things over the past year or so that I thought would have indicated a new model product introduction by now but so far nada!

To be repeated in a whispered tone: -- (I HAVE seen completed box art!)

Unfortunately still nada!

To the gods of styrene - please, please, please!

I may already have my NO6 artillery tractor but I don't want to have to start from total scratch all over again in order to build at least one of the Mack boom trucks and the Mack Semi-Tractor.


Extended frame Mack with Gar-Wood winch, Gar-Wood crane boom AND fifth wheel !*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!*!

MACK Semi-Tractor(This may have been a field modification - not sure.)
