Lol! Yeah, clearing out some of the kids old stuff. I wish my boys were as easily pleased these days. Christmas is a lot more expensive than it used to be! On the up side, I can drop hints about various bits of plastic or other supplies I have my eye on!

Hi Gentlemen,
Having just finished the Ancient Airfix campaign.
I am more than up for this one, no aftermarket, no PE, brilliant!
Will check the stash for old Frog models, Pyro models and the like.
Cheers

Hi Paul,
As far as I am aware the film came out in 1965, I think these are probably about a year later so say 1966.
There are no dates on the box or instructions.
They were reintroduced a few years later by Lifelike of which I have the Bristol Boxkite.
Loved the film though was a real influence on a seven year old kid.
Happy modelling

Martin, I've never seen those either. Who made 'em, what scale are they? Could be interesting!!

Hi Pete,
They were first issued by impact and are 1/48th scale. Later reissued by Pyro then again by LifeLike. Then they disappeared.
Cheers

Hi Rob,
I take it the etch was also purchased way back then also

Even still looks good by todays standards, and there´s
a Datafile in there

. I remember as a kid that there was a lot of that

and they wasn´t special editions either, it was just something the kitmakers used to do.

Paul,
I'm not sure where the True Details wheels came from but everything else is part of the kit.
Cheers Rob.

Great idea for a campaign. I've got an old Italeri 1/72 F-16 I was thinking of - date on the box says 1994. I intend to do it in the old-school original delivery scheme with the black nose.

Hello Neil,
welcome to the campaign, and a great choice you got there too.
Hope I don´t get into trouble as there seems to a lot of Aircraft turning up on the Armorama site

, ah what the hell, I got a Meteor I could build, it´s not quite so old only 1997.

I'm liking the 110 Rob. One of my favorite aircraft. One of these days I'll acquire one - and maybe even build it! The Eduards look impressive.
Good review / build here -

Hi Paul, i'm thinking of building this one in the pic. I know it's not a very old kit, just from 97 but from the oldest tank kits i have. I have a lot of really old vintage kits (airplanes of course), in 1/32nd scale from the time i was a kid that i never got to build, but they take too much time.....
My work.

Hi John,
nice to hear from you again. The Kit you have chosen is from before 2000 so it´s o.k.

As for those 1/32 kits well....
I have an old Airfix 1/24 Hurricane that i got from a mate
a work, now that would take some time

.
Cheers
Paul

Howdy Y'all:
I just enlisted in this campaign. Now I need to make a decision: which kit to build. I think these all meet the criteria.
Take care,

I’ve just joined up also and have Heller’s old outdated, but still not a bad kit of the AMX 30 AU F1. This would be great to build since Meng is releasing a their AMX 30 MBT which hopefully there will be a AUF1 behind it. I was planning to originally scratch build and super detail this kit, but just too many projects to build.

HI Don,
welcome mate, I´m afraid that you can only do the PAK 40.
The GPA and 75mm Howitzer are post 2000 if I remember rightly. Please correct me if I´m wrong
Hi Christopher, and welcome to you too.
I seem to remember a different packaging on that AMX 30AU F1, if it´s a re-release then that´s ok, as long as it´s not been beefed up with etch like some fo the Italeri offerings are now.
Happy Christmas to all, and that Santa leaves plenty of plastic under your trees
