This kit has a lot of mistakes... It is good because it's interesting to find the truth and add something that was not added by the manufacturer. It is bad bacause the changes I must do are too great... You will see them later. Now I suggest you to take a look at the correct version of engine covers:

Panzershop offers such type of lateral wall:

But it is wrong!!!

There should not be only the picture at the wall, there should be DOORS with the picture))) I did them:

One more little victory over incorrect kit!

Wheels are greatly reworked and ready. Kit wheels are wrong (they should be more fatty), so, I changed them at JS-2 wheels from "Комплект ЗИП"...

Evgeny, as much as I enjoy your updates with this monster maybe you should start your own thread about it. You've thread jack from a man who is no long with us. It might just be best to take everything and move it to a separate thread.

Actually, I think this is a great place to put this info. Jim really wanted to do great things with his kit and Evgeny is showing us some great detail changes. I hesitate to say he is doing it for Jim, Evgeny can speak for himself, but I think it is a great tribute to Jim. I will be thinking of him when I build mine, and using Evgeny's notes as well.

Quoted Text

it is a great tribute to Jim.

I think so too and that is the reason why I use this topeak to write about my building.

Jim was the first man who I met in my begining and he helped me a lot. He even suggested me tu buy a model as a gift, when I did not have anough money for it... But he did not it because I saw his private message with this suggestion too late)))

His pictures also helped me in building!

But there is a lot of mistakes, which I am not able to correct... They will be shown later...

Hi, guys! Here I am again! My work stopped when I got the second daughter))) Now I can continue building!

Panzershop offers such incorrect version of container's top:

I made a new cone and detalized it:

The rear part of the launch container. Wrong Panzershop version:

My version is more realistic:

May be, it looks like a real part...

Good to see you back. Hope you get this done before your new child takes up all your model time! (I have 3 kids, so I understand).

Interesting find on the end caps of the missile tube. I see more work in my future! I appreciate you posting your work so it makes it easier for me.
