Hi guys,
Finally solved the reworking of my Churchill to the version used by Kingforce at the Battle of El Alamein. Model AFV Club is made in the basic version MK.III while tanks used in Kingforce have specific modifications such as shield to protect the crew against dust, brackets for mounting the dummy trucks, another chest in the back turret and a modified exhaust pipes. Besides in instruction is given the wrong camouflage colors, complement sandy yellow to be dark green and the pictures it appears that rather it should be black. Here are a few pictures of the assembled model, even small improvements and washing before applying the black primer.
Any suggestions welcome
greetings
Paweł

Looks good Pawel.
Just ordered some stuff from Squadron; though I completely forgot about the campaign.... Guess I'll have tobget this sorted out when I get my next pay check.
Thinking a version converted to carry one of the smaller bridges?

Tony, she is looking good. From what I have read on other forums it should be SCC No.2 (Brown) with SCC No.1A (very dark brown). The general patterns that the instructions show are similar to what was used, it's just the colours that are wrong.
cheers

From Mike Starmer
1941- 42 –" Standard Camouflage Colour Shades ( S.C.Cs.) from BS.987C came into use alongside and then supplanting, the greens, but in the same M.T.P. patterns. The basic shade was Khaki Green 3 or S.C.C. 2 with S.C.C. 1A over it. These browns were introduced as a result of a severe shortage of a vital chemical agent used to produce strong greens."
Backs up what you said David, Thanks

There is build for the churchill campaign. Customer service for AFV sucks, only had half the spring boges and never got any replacements, but carried on anyway.
I can say that I did not enough putting together the wheels and sprockets. what a nightmare????
I have just painted a dark green colour, then lighted it with yellow and again with white.
I also some british tank riders, I am no expert at pinting figures, but gave it a go. I was a little disapointed in the MINIART set, I just left that the straps and pockets were not prominate enough to paint compared with the tamiya british patol set
next step a wash and filtering
