Hi everyone, till now i was a silent reader in this forum. But i would like to join in on this canadian campaign. You have to excuse my english it isn`t that good. My modelling skills are not pro like but i try to do my best. I am in with a Grizzly or Cougar 1:35.

Sounds like an interesting campaign. I would like to build out of my comfort zone; can anyone recommend a Canadian Navy submarine or ship kit?

For a ship model kit I was thinking more along the lines of Airfix or plastic kit manufacturer. Thie kits are very nice though.

Welcome aboard to ARMORAMA Christoph! I think your English is just fine and very readable. It's better than a lot of people around here that are supposed to be fluent in it.

I started with the transmission(?) stuff on the lower hull.
Easy to assemble, no problems.
Than i made some corrections on the upper hull engine grills(?)
should be ok like that.
that`s it for the moment.

While I am not a ship modeller by any means, I'm pretty sure the only relatively available plastic ship kit that can be built as Canadian is the old Airfic 1/72 Flower Class corvette.
By the end of the war we had a lot of those plus several classes of destroyers and frigates and one cruisers. We got our first carriers (light escort carriers) right at the end of teh war and they saw little combat.
Other than the Flowers, none of the other classes has had a plastic kit produced.
Our post-war ships have been unique Canadian designs and not available in styrene.
If you want to make a small scale Canadian ship, it pretty much has to be resin.

Mirage Hobby has a couple of 1/350 options that can be made into very nice Canadian Corvettes.

From what I understand from my grandfather, a few modifications and both could be very nice Canadian ships.

I am venturing outside my normal lane for this campaign. My dad and I just got a shipment of goodies from Lucky Model and couldn't pass up their 10th anniversary deal on this beast. I thought that my Buffalo was big.....
My dad models primarily 1/48 Canadian aircraft so I will depending on his experience to get me through this monster build.I'm home on a day's leave right now and will begin real construction when I'm home for good in 6 weeks.

Found this picture of a Cougar AVGP in Somalia with a Husky ARV and it inspired me to build something of a similar nature. I bought the trumpeter AVGP, I'll need to get the Husky but i'll start on the AVGP first.

That's actually a Bison MRT and not a Husky with the Cougar in case you are looking for accuracy with your project.

Jason has the Husky served anywhere outside of Canada. I think we had some in Darfur, but other then that I cannot find any information.

The Husky served in Croatia, Bosnia, and Kosovo.
The Darfur AVGPs were provided to the African Union....training by Canadian troops provided but the crews were African Union.

Can someone recommend some Tankers that have clothing and gear similar to those used by Canadian tankers in the picture above/mid too late 90's prior to the shift to CADPAT. Same for some infantry figures that could be used.
