First job, finishing off the helicopter, I have used the Injection moulded rotors, simply because the otor head detail is more three dimensional than the etch.
Rigging next, thee shots of the progress.
the whips now just needed painting, the hanger door to fit, and finally the base needs some paint shooting at it.

Looking good Simon! That looks to be some very small, fiddly work ... you must have the patience of a saint and the hands of a surgeon. To give us an idea of scale, what is the overall length of the ship? Great work.

Thanks Jason,
The model is about 38cm long, 1/350th scale. The etch from White Ensign is very cleverly designed to make the builders life easier.

@Simon, that frigate is a work of art..superb modelling
Well I said I would come back and build another Trumpeter kit, so after nearly completing some other projects I started this one today:
I will be building this OOTB with no aftermarket bit....well I may source a Live Resin weapons station for it
Work started on the all wheel drive of the lower hull:
And then onto the steering and suspension, the instructions leave a lot to be desired when it comes to the PE bits in the kit!

Thanks Warren,
Montrose is in the loft awaiting the arrival of the WEM Turret, and I must pick up the Westminster at some point.

Great work on the Kent Simon. I'm hoping my small effort will be half as good as yours. I've just noticed the missile silo's behind the turret. Are these housing the same type of SAM's as fitted to the Daring class?

Thanks Stephen,
I am sure your build will not disappoint. Will be watching with interest.
They are not same missile systems, the silos on the type 23 house 32 seawolf missiles, whilst those on the type 45 house 48 sea viper, which is the Royal Navy's name of the PAAMS (British/French/Italian collaboration, PAAMS stand fro Principle Anti Air Missile.

I have to take it slowly, it's the kind of build you lose interest while working with that suspension/wheel set...

Just a small bit of progress on the Panzer 38(t). I've switched over to trying to finish off a couple of other projects so this one hasn't seen much attention the past week.
Have the pin washes and some sponge chipping done. Next up will be some streaks and other weathering. I initially tried using the AK Interactive Worn Effects fluid for the chipping, but the results were, less than stellar. I've tried using the stuff several times, but the results are just too unpredictable for my liking...sometimes it works OK, others not so much. Think I will stick to sponge chipping from now on.
I've done some rudimentary painting to the turret interior and gun breech. There will be a figure in the turret which will obscure the view of it so I didn't see the sense in adding any additional detail...trying to keep this one OOB. Trumpeter did a very nice job with the basic interior turret and gun detail they did provide. It would make a good jumping off point for building full-blown interior detail.
I've finally started sanding down the IL-76...lots of sanding, and likely some additional puttying. Nothing worth posting photos of at this point. I still can't believe how bad the fit on that kit is. Hopefully that's not the norm for other Trumpeter aircraft kits, as I have my sights set on a few more of their offerings. The 38(t) on other hand, has been a very enjoyable little kit.
I'm really enjoying watching the progress everyone is making on their submissions!

Nice job Sal !
Metal barrels would look great !
My update,
Trumpeter messed this one,
That small part should be outward not inward otherwise the small wheel can't fit in.
This photo shows clearly Trumpeter's error
So I did some plastic surgery -
Nip & Tuck with a Xacto blade ..
Some CA Glue, some sanding tomorrow and it will look like new

Been a while since I've updated this one. Some nice work from you guys. Anyway, on with the KV-1 Cast Iron Turret.
With most assembly done, it was time to add the personal touches. I had seen a KV build in FSM where he had left off a fender. I liked that, but decided to beat up the pther fender a bit as well. A lot of the pictures I saw of KVs showed a great deal of damage to the fenders.
I filled in the location slots on the side that would be fenderless. I then took some styrene strips and made mounting strips for both sides.
Now for the paint. Green.
After dry-brushings of lighter shades of green and steel. I would add a third layer and a light black wash to tone down the steel. For the roadwheels I painted the contact areas dark gray, then a heavy dry-brushing of steel.
Now for the tracks. These length-and-link tracks tend to go together pretty well. This particular set needed some extra cleaning up to get rid of flash.
Tracks assembled and sent to paint. I shot a coat of flat black. Then a dusting of Gunship Gray. I'll then drybrush steel and rust to the tracks. I'm following a similar paint process to them as I did for the roads-wheels.
While waiting for that to dry I decided to add a damaged front fender brace to the tank. I mainly wanted to retain some sort of mounting hardware there and really wasn't sure how the real thing looked. I clipped the base from the fender and added it, then added a piece of the kit's fender brace. Two views of it, because it's hard to see.
And now it all comes together. I decided to not add numbers or slogans. Some of the pictures I saw had them without any markings and I thought it looked a bit different.
And with that...it's done. I'll do my customary couple of days wait to see what errors show up and then upload a couple of shots to the Gallery.
All in all, it was a leisurely build. The kit is showing some wear with the added flash and mold alignment issues. I think the texture added to the turret came out good without being overdone looking. I'll probably add a commander at some point, but I don't have one in the stash that I really liked.
