Stunning work Bill. I bet the decals were not easy to work with.

Made some initial work on the Zulu earlier this evening. The upper superstructures, bridge and funnels are just about done. Really did not take long so if the rest of the kit is as good assembly should be quick.
I have not been able to source anything suitable to make up a display stand for the full-hull option. I looked at using brass lamp finials, but almost all of them were too big being more suitable for larger scales. I've decided to do it as waterline. Its quicker and it will fit in better with my other 1/700's, which are of course all waterline. I think it would have looked an odd-one-out. I'm thinking of getting the 1/350 Tribal at a later date to build as full-hull, probably a late war variant, so no great loss.
Why Trumpeter never included a stand I shall never understand. Even a simple Airfix-style cradle would have been better than nothing.

I used Verlinden 1/35 Russian Tank crew WWII. I use them because the uniforms match up with the soviet paratrooper corps. Just a little paint and weathering and they are good to go!!
Have fun!!
Thanks for the info on your ASU-85 figure. For some reason I was expecting it to be something a little more "exotic" than a Verlinden figure!
But you made a great choice in using that one!
Thanks to all for the kind words on the Il-76...very much appreciated!
The base with the taxiway lights was actually something I built for an Air Berlin 737-800 this past fall. I had originally wanted to do a base to place the Candid at Bagram airfield during the '80s, but ran out of time for the contest. When the clock runs out, use what you have!

I imagine it takes up quite a bit of shelf space
Actually, at 1/144 it doesn't take up too much space....at least compared to the A380 I've got 3/4 finished!

Yeah, I was a bit underwhelmed with the quality of the Trumpeter decals. They seemed a bit thick when compared to the Expert's Choice decal paper I used for the Soviet markings I made. The Trumpy decals didn't like to respond to setting solution too well either. In a few places I had to use multiple applications of Solvaset to get them to do anything.

The Emil is always a good choice, no matter what scale you choose.

Hi everyone! 22 pages of great stuff so far, well I want to share mine too!
I will start with a Spanish Centauro with some upgrades. After opening the box, the pieces are all bagged and they look really cool.
I started building yesterday and so far everything is fitting nicely.

The hull is two huge parts as you can see in the picture, dry fitting is perfect so far.

Hi Pedro, I've done the Italian late version when it came out first. From what I recall there were no issues with the instructions or build and went together very well. Will watch you build with interest.

Hi Sean! well so far the built is straight forward. Only one issue found so far with one of the wheels that is not aligned, but no a big issue, very easy to be corrected.
I bought the wheels in resin for the Centauro but the original ones are great, so probably won't used it. the hull is not glued yet, I put it to see the look and feel of the parts.

Hello. This is my first campaign and first post. Just a quick back ground on me… I just got back into modeling about a year ago. Started with the shiny cars and it turns out I am not so good at it. Some I just got bored with, some I totally butchered. Before I give up modeling I figured I would try out military modeling as a last ditch effort to relief stress from a busy job. Twenty five years ago I did do some military modeling so it’s not totally new to me, but now at the age of 42 I’m in desperate need of a moral victory.
I bring to you a Trumpeter 1/72 British Warrior kit with only a hand full of parts so I feel good going into this that I can complete it assuming I don’t lose or brake any parts. I will post updates as soon as I can.

Oh boy! My kit is soooo way too much under construction, that I have started to fear, it will not finish in time. Luckily my other campaign just got more extension, that I may have chance to build this one too.

Been a while since my last update.
Upper superstructures going together.
Got the hull assembled and cleaned up. A little Green Putty thinned with liquid polly was needed to blend in the deck and bottom plate but no major issues. I also finished varnishing the display base.
Oh, and the Niko Models 2pdr guns I'd been waiting for almost half a year finally arrived. Tiny little things aren't they?

Some lovely stuff still happening here....
This has been sitting idle for too long and I decided to go again at it. If i can't fix the gap I'll fabricate a tarp or something hanging down to hide it. Have started doing the other side and will know tonight if it comes together....

OK, I officially hate "link & length" tracks!
Will have another go at this again tonight, but currently I',m left with a gap where one link is supposed to fit but it's too narrow. Plus trying to get them all in place has taken hours....and that's just on one side! A very frustrating evening last night
