Here is my entry, cyberhobby Stug iii ausf G initial production, with Aber metal barrel. Waiting on friulmodel metal tracks ATL-19 to arrive since I'm not a fan of either magic track or DS tracks. Really looking forward to taking part of this campaign and seeing other builds.

Good choice Mike! If I don't get the A I'll fall back on the B StuG.

Looking forward to seeing some StuGs built here! I understand most of us won't really get started 'till after the Holidays but that's cool.

I'm starting on the Early first Jeff and after I get her on her feet i'll start the Late one.

After three hours of work she's underway.

Plastic is not too hard or soft so the clean up has been great as well as the fit.
The PE rim rings for the idler wheels are still to large as with all previous Stug kits. Too much trouble to trim them down so i'll make do.

See you guys tomorrow

Looking good Tony. Looking forward in seeing your two beauties!

Got most of the lower hull done. Hopefully I can get the interior and upper hull done this weekend if things goes well. Love the kit, hate the instructions.

Jeff, I sure hope you get the A , I tried to but it's non existent here in Europe now .

Mike, a nice kit there and a cool start. Are you going to add the typical stowage carrier on the rear ?

Tony, nice kits you intend to build I have the early version without zimmerit, but I just can't decide at the moment. Nice and speedy start there too, I see you've gotten a track assembled too

Well I'm still stuck with the choice question, and to mess things up more I was informed that this little beauty is now available:
http://www.dersockelshop.de/detail/index/sArticle/39204

Does anyone know for which kit this is, Tamiya or Dragon?

Hey Paul,

If I remember right this particular Stug did not have the stowage rack so I won't add it. I do have the cyber hobby Stug iii ausf g mid-late production kit #6412 that I wanted to do but my wife wanted the initial one. So I had to keep her happy...lol. I may enter that one as well if I have time.

Cool looking addition from panzer art. It may be for dragon but not sure.

Well I ordered a few more things to complete my first Late StuG kit. The Late "swinging" Shurzen and a stowage frame kit.

It'll probably end up not historically correct but most of these had so many field modifications who can tell?

Since I just bought the 2 "Karl" and "Loki" howitzers kits I will pick a kit out of my stash for the second StuG build.

Paul those are just sections of tracks left over from other builds and not for these.

Bitter cold outside but the bench was warm and toasty.
The casement is just sitting there but the rest has been installed.

The persons at Panzer Art usually make their items to fit DML molds. Though with some fiddling about I suspect that you can make it fit Tamyia. You can visit their web site to get more info. That conversion is on my to get list. It is just so unique. I will probably not start mine until the new year. Some great looking projects started here. All the best.

Thanks Trevor, I have already ordered the StuG conversion. But
I still don't know which I shall do in here. It'll either be that conversion with hessian tape camnet or a StuG III with the
Jagdpanzer IV style armour plates
I doubt very much if I will start before the new year though

Sunday Morning Update:

If you can't find those gun splatter shields on your Early w/o zimm, the Mid and or Late DML StuG IV check sprue tree "G" part#23/24. My kit said location was "K" 39/40 but I found them on "G".

See you folks later

All I got besides the breech of the gun was a couple of radios so i'm just going to shut mine up for combat and save the radios Mike.

At least we had sunshine today for a change

Take care

Good choice of kit there Tony, it builds up very nicely

I staggered through that one during the original StuG Brigade Build. Fruils will definitely do the kit justice. Directions do have a few problems though, mostly around the gun mantlet if I remember correctly.

Liking the builds so far!
