Looking sweet there Tony, and Merry Christmas to you!

I just received an early gift to myself...
... the PE kit of the LATE SCHUTZEN shields to complete my StuG build from last year.
Every thing is looking good around here!

First Merry Christmas everyone
Santa (my wife) bought me this little bundle of joy this Christmas morning:
She also got me some Eduard photo etched waffle pattern zimmerit and an RB models barrel
Have already ordered a Dragon Stug crew to go with it.
Hope to start after I finish off my Stryker which will be in a day or two.

I couldn't help myself, finished off my Stryker and got stuck straight into the Stug. This is my first Dragon kit and so far so good!
Although I'm a bit disappointed with the Eduard PE Zimmerit as it had to be trimmed to fit onto the side of the hull.
One side of hull complete with suspension and torsion bars in place.
Wheels, lots of wheels!

Thanks Tony, quite like you Stug IV as well.
More progress on my Stug III, first off more troubles with the Eduard PE (do these drips even buy the kit they make the PE for to measure it

)
The piece of etch that went on the front of the hull, already had holes for the bolts punched into. So I thought "yep this should be easy, should fit right on" well it didn't fit right on and the Eduard holes didn't line up with Dragon's bolts!
In the end I used a no. 4 blade and sheared off the bolt heads, glued on the etched zimm and then glued the bolt heads into their respective holes

It was a nightmare but it turned out good in the end!
Exhaust system and rear Zimmerit..which also didn't line up and had to be modified.

And this is where I am at now:

ok, starting to look at my StuG IV (Tamiya so sd.kfz.163). I have vatious markings but the painting guide just says "over all dark yellow". I am hoping for a 3-tone scheme and, after research am thinkning a Falaise Pocket 2nd Panzer Division vehicle may fit the bill... so questions
1) did 2nd panzer (wermacht not SS) use the 163 in Falaise
2) anyone got a marking scheme/painting guide for that unit/time (either other kit, photos, links)
3) any other units I could consider. The kit coms with
.. 237h assualt gun
.. 251st " " "
.. 279th " " "
.. 2nd Panzer
.. 9th Panzer
could of course go for Am decals if there are any for the sd.kfz.163
thanks in advance

The only thing I found Rob was that Sturmpanzer Abteilung 217
had them and was partially destroyed at Falaise.
It's a good bet that they had a tri color camo scheme.

Thx tony. Noticed they had 21st pz div in jult and 9th when re-equipped before the winter... So could do a 9th div in 3-colour from early autumn 44... But would that me an early stug iv?

Not that i'm an expert here, but I believe the only unit fielding Stug IVs on D-day was the 17th SS Panzergrenadier Division Götz von Berlichingen.
StuG Abt 1331 of the 331st Infantry Division (in combat from early August) also appears to have stug IVs.
