Russell, you are really going whole hog! There is almost nothing left of the original kit.

I agree with you on the sloping rear hull. something is not right....

It looks to be an awesome build none the less.

Thanks, Jesper. Agreed, there's not much Tamiya in there, for sure.
I'm going to do some poking, see if I can come up with hull plans. I remember when Trump's T62 was first released, there was a big bruhaha about the shape of the hull, and lots of profile drawings popped up, maybe some are still there. That'll either wreck me or convince me to make some adjustments when I do the engine deck.
Edit: Well, that was so quick I'm just going to edit rather than post again: There are several pics on ML of blown up and otherwise bare T62 hulls, and the downward slope behind the turret ring is very much correct, so I feel better now.
Take a peek:

I'm not going to trouble my pretty little head one minute more.

I did something!

And oh joy, they're too narrow to fit the Tamiya sprockets. Hmmm, maybe I should have checked before I assembled them. I should say, I stated in the beginning that I would be using Friuls, and these are Spade Ace, so unless I can come up with a Trumpeter T-62 sprocket set, I'll be assembling some Friuls....

Wow Russ, lots of work...

Here a small update:

I finnish the interior and exterior details of the "camo" part. Hope you like:

Cheers!

Looking good, Marco, very good.
I had some time Friday night, so rather than drill more holes, I thought I'd actually work on the tank itself. I decided to do the engine covers, so after sorting through all the Verlinden stuff and the two Eduard sets of PE, this is what I came up with:

I have a couple of pieces of plastic rod holding up the two large covers because the hinges are so fragile. I may have to leave them there until I'm ready to put this model in the case.....

Thanks Russ! Nothing that almost resembling your fantastic work!

Mine is just some PE...

Cheers my friend!

Hi gents!

It isn't Russ, you're right, but resin, white stuff etc. is really hard. BTW, both of us and all guys here are doing great models.

Now, just a little update:

First, a bit of automotive grey primer

After that, some VA NATO green and sand primers (10:2). Inside I used just the green.

Them, the camo work, using automotive paints mixed to get the correct colors:

Hope you like!

Cheers!

Hi guys!

Thanks a lot Russ!

I started the interior paint using Vallejo:

No filter or wash or dry so far, just some paint.

Then, I didn't resist and started the biggest PE construction ever (for me, of course). The turret!

There are almost 50 pieces so far and it isn't complete!

I used the original plastic ring to make the final assembly easy:

And now, my M1151 has a crown

I think I'll add more 40 to 50 pieces here yet.

Hope you like.

Cheers!

Marco

Looks nice, Marco.

How did you apply the camouflage? It has sharp edges, but not sharp enough to be brush painted? Did you use airbrush?

Hi Jesper!

Thanks man!

Yes, I used AB. 0,2mm needle, 10-15 PSI, automotive paint and some pain in my hand.

Cheers!

Lookin' good Marco, very good.
I got a little time in last night, added some bits to the turret and fitted the idlers and tracks. It's starting to look like a tank now...

As yours Russ!

Wow, those tracks look realy good. They are heavy, so they look like the real thing.

All the work you did with this was paid off!

Cheers!

Uuugghh!! had an accident while cooking dinner the other night. long story short i can't use my left hand for awhile, it's hard to hold things when you can't use your thumb. I doubt I'll be able to finish the whole thing, but I think I can get at least the slat on. would i still be able to get a ribbon?

John,
I was able to do a little bit today. I'll post a Picture at the end and then let you decide.
